In , 2002, Bishop walked into an International House of Pancakes in Peabody with her family, asked for a booster seat for one of her children, and learned the last seat had gone to another mother.
Bishop, according to a police report, strode over to the other woman, demanded the seat and launched into a profanity-laced rant.
When the woman would not give the seat up, Bishop punched her in the head, all the while yelling "I am Dr. Amy Bishop."
Bishop received probation and prosecutors recommended that she be sent to anger management classes, though it is unclear from court documents whether a judge ever sent her there. The woman, identified in court documents as Michelle Gjika, declined to comment, saying only "It's not something I want to relive."

I read somewhere (and don’t have the link) that the university had already agreed to share the profits/royalties, whatever they are called, with her 50-50.
“Special person” in this case also means an ego the size and flammability of the Hindenburg.
There's also a new thread claiming that she and her hubbie both met at a Dungeons and Dragons gaming club, OR something, you can locate the thread by doing a simple title search on the word: DRAGON.
LOL -- they'll inevitably try to blame her clinical psychopathology on a roleplaying game.
And she was doubtless aw-shucking to herself 24/7 that she couldn’t get it all.
For those of you who have been asking about Dr. Leahy’s condition I went to one of our local TV news websites and found this:

Amy Bishop charged with 2002 assault at IHOP ping....
I wonder what kind of mother she was to her kids. It’s kind of scary to think that, if she was a whacko, she is what her kids think of as being a normal mother.
I feel sorry for those kids. Her husband, well it seems to me that he should have realized something was very, very wrong with her.
What she did upon encountering the game is more telling.
If she is on a suicide watch, I suggest they give her a razor to shave her armpits and she what she does with it.
An earlier report said they didn’t fit well in their neighborhood, had lefty yard signs - and the street opposite was called Scarlett O’Hara Dr or something like that !!!
And yet he’s the one that is supposed to be nuts! We’ll take Walter any day, over her.
Thank you for posting this. I read it and bookmarked it.
I think Amy Bishop is evil, not insane in the legal sense of the word.
Like the Ft Hood shooter: the signs were there, but ignored.
Evil, wicked, that’s the general idea. With substantial Satanic cover.
This is what I was told by a UAH student today that the above was what set her off last Friday because she didn't want UAH to get any of the royalties but she had done the research for this gizmo at UAH on UAH time.
Supposedly she didn't want UAH to get any of the royalties. She wanted all of them to go to her husband's company
Like the couple who gave their clinically depressed son the gift of a gun which just happened to be the gun his brother used to shoot himself with?
Wouldn’t be surprised to see that kind of wicked, though this is all speculation at this time.
Well now they can all go to her husband's lawyer's company.
