"24" Themed Countdown Clock (1 Minute)
Set in New York City, "Day Eight" unfolds amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations as President Allison Taylor (Jones), alongside new chief of staff ROB WEISS (Chris Diamantopoulos), negotiates international security with OMAR HASSAN (Anil Kapoor), a determined Middle Eastern leader visiting the U.S. on a peacemaking mission. As the new day begins, an upgraded CTU operates under the command of M.B.A.-schooled, razor-sharp head honcho BRIAN HASTINGS (Mykelti Williamson), who supervises quirky CHLOE O'BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), expert data analyst DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff) and systems analyst ARLO GLASS (John Boyd).
COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Bauer's footsteps, leads field operations while Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching) returns with an agenda of her own. Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, 24 is a production of 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television in association with Teakwood Lane Productions.

The sniper did not murder Renee, the lazy, brain dead, grandfathered in writers of “24” murdered her. Think they wiped the most interesting character in the show out of spite because they wanted to prevent a “Frazer” type spinoff that would not include them ? I do.

Worst. Sniper.
Ever.
Best comment of the night!
I mean.. really.. what kind of sniper tries to take out TWO CTU operatives by himself? Impossible... he'd never try it. And, a gut shot?? That's a pretty big miss.
Worst... sniper... EVER!

I liked Buchanan, too. Was it his choice to leave the series? And they never said what happened to his wife Karen. She's now the head of the FBI on Criminal Minds.

Renee's murder also kills off the kinder and gentler Jack Bauer. All his growth, all his understanding, all his tolerance, they're all gone. The veneer of civility has been stripped away leaving us once again with the effective and driven agent. It'd be good to see Jack shoot Starbuck in the thigh during interrogation - just for old time's sake.
(One can hope)

It'd be good to see Jack shoot Starbuck in the thigh during interrogation - just for old time's sake. Speaking of old time's sake, one of my favorite scenes (I can't recall which season it was from, but on the early side) was when Jack goes into a CTU conference room to help out with an interrogation. The guy doesn't cooperate so Jack just pulls out his gun, shoots the guy in the chair, and walks out of the room with the guy's head in a gym bag (which he later shows to some of the bad guys as a sign of his seriousness or something). My son and I crack up like crazy when either of us mentions it!!!

First kill, season 2.
Here's a link to a site that tallies Jacks onscreen kills. FWIW

Thanks! That’s right he asked for a hacksaw. I’ll have to dig out that DVD and watch it again soon. Great link, thanks again.

Audrey’s husband was the first participant of BauerCare. Much like ObamaCare, Death Panels were involved. Unfortunately for the husband, Jack chose the Chinese national over the husband leading to the death of the husband. And yes, it was at CTU medical.

Image at 4031 - Very nice.
I'm thru with the show. No Renee, no reason to watch. Unless, she isn't really dead. Just made to appear so for whatever reason the writers can dream up. (I know, wishful thinking)

Image at 4126 - Very, very nice. But I refuse to watch if she is really dead. (Could she have been wearing a vest and the emergency room staff all given orders from Chloe to pretend that they really didn’t save her?)

Dang on Renee!
If she had lived they would have no doubt disappeared in loving bliss somewhere far from the action.
Didn’t want to come to the thread ahead of time for spoilers..
see you all next week

I dunno.. I mean, she and Jack just DID it.. he would know if she had a vest on. And, there was an awful lot of blood.
I think, Freckles has expired. Ceased to be. Gone to live with the fishes... She’s an Ex-agent.

OR..this was a Jack post sex/sleep dream & next week it will be a Bobby/Dallas.. I had a dream? No such luck me thinks

Well, I hope she doesn’t end up in one of those lame sit-coms. Maybe she can get a job at FOX News.

I am guessing that is a serious question & I didn't know before last year.
HULU is a site/server that has a back log of shows to view (free) and has minimal commercials. Great for watching shows you miss. Normally they are "up" 24 hours or so after program is aired.
Here is the link for 24

gotcha.
and I answered it as such.. until I got dish this past summer I had NO TV savvy. (still really don’t , but know more). FReepers would list personalities, shows, etc & I was completely in the dark.
I love the fact HULU is free & has such minimal commericals. The entire 24 show plus commercials is about 48 minutes

last one from last week... and
first one this week.. IBTP
Will not be watching 24 until HULU tomorrow.. Cavalier’s nut that I am. Dont want to come in & out of program during time outs or check out threads.
I am still in shock about Rene last week & anticipate Jack will be on a violent bender the next few weeks to make up for what many here complained about being to light of a season.

I just finished Day 5 and don't get the infatuation with Edgar. Nosey and whiny is Egar: "what are you doing", "I'm too busy". If he wasn't to0 busy he would have sent a red-shirt from security with a gun to check downstairs instead of a weaponless, female analyst.
Day five was a doozy what with Edgar's demise, Audrey forgeting her claim check for the white sweater (it was hilarious when I suddenly realized what she was wearing and instantly knowing blood was on the horizon) and Jack doing the ultimate Kimnapping of a very, very senior Exec Office offical.
Started re-watching day six and I would like to nominate Jack playing Dracula while chained in a chair after two years in a Chinese prison and killing the guard after being tortured by Fayed as Jack Bauer's greatest single kill in the history of 24. Any other nominations for Jack's "Kill of the 24 Franchise'?
