I think people have a misconception that cancer is a foreign substance on the body. IIRC, it’s actually a growth disorder within the cells themselves. Cells that don’t have the proper regulators that normally control cell division divide in an uncontrolled fashion, resulting in tumors. Baking soda isn’t going to fix the genes responsible for this regulation.

“Great for ptomaine poisoning.”

Haven’t heard that term in years. Probably because people couldn’t pronounce it. And yes, it can be helpful for food poisoning, but I’d rather not have to need it for that. ugh

Well, I’m not sure how many or what types of credentials you would require him to have before he would meet your approval.

But - and this is just hypothetical - what do you do, if you were a licensed oncologist, and you found a simple, unpatentable treatment that worked? A treatment that basically could put most of the people you work with out of business? A treatment that would render the years of study and expense you made learning about different types of cancers pretty much a waste of time at the worst or just a very expensive hobby at the best?

Do you honestly think JAMA would be overflowing overnight with articles and testimonials? Do you think cancer doctors and drug suppliers who have Mercedes and kids with braces are gonna be happy?

A very similar situation is unfolding now in front of our eyes. It is becoming more and more generally accepted that serum cholesterol levels ARE NOT THE PRIMARY CAUSE of atherosclerosis.

We have had DECADES of people telling us not to eat meat, eggs, yada yada, blah blah. And tens of thousands of people have died from coronary artery problems. Including a very large number of people who swore off saturated fats years ago based on the recommendations.

So IF the model is wrong, will they have the stones to admit it?

You’re quite an optimist and have alot of faith if you think it will happen soon!

Colon cancer is what my father had, too, but he was denied chemo because he was too weak following a surgery-gone-wrong. Because he was being denied the mainstream treatment, we desperately searched out every alternative option we could find.

I found all sorts of claims on the internet, and I checked into each one. I even called and spoke with the people administering those alternative treatments. Most of the claims just didn’t pan out. However, I did make an appointment for intravenous Vitamin C, though they couldn’t see him for months. (It was too late.) Now I realize we might’ve been able to convince the hospital to try IVC.

Anyway, the above is why I’m skeptical of claims made by alternative medicine. I’ll watch the video you posted, though.

It’s more than that, because as far as I understand it, cancer cells themselves are also in an anaerobic state. The mitochondria are for all intents and purposes shut down and the cellular energy comes from fermentation.

Damn!
Odd, hey?

Fermentation - just like yeast do it!

I’ve read it’s good for respiratory type infections, etc. Glad it’s helping you. I’ve taken it before. I’ve had to mix it in apple juice, grape juice to be able to take it though.

I can’t believe you think drug companies are holding back a cure for cancer.

I can't believe you think I said that!

If it were true that people are witholding a cancer cure, you are the one blaming drug companies. I just made it clear that a whole lot of people are employed in treating cancer. I haven't thought that anybody would hold back a cancer cure.

You shouldn't put erroneous thoughts into other people's heads!

But baking soda and water is always immediate relief and also usually produces a great belch.

LOL, I know what you mean. I've had acid reflux since my early teens. Rolaids doesn't work at all for me. Tums, if you gobble the XTRA Strength by the handful sort of works. But nothing tops that BURP! after eating too much pizza, when you put a tablespoon of baking soda in warm water!

I rarely get any 'heartburn' anymore, for some reason. But I still use good old Arm and Hammer to rinse my mouth. Better than all those expensive mouthwashes and dental rinses put together.

I don’t think so. I don’t remember hearing about that one.

It’s been a few years now, and there were so many products and treatments we looked into, and there were products other people recommended to us and/or gave to us, too. But, unfortunately, I don’t remember them all.

When you add vinegar to baking soda, you’re neutralizing the base (vinegar is the acid).

And the acid and base neutralize one another because it’s a chemical reaction turning baking soda and vinegar into water and carbon dioxide.

The cayenne might get your attention, or even trigger endorphins like capsaicin, but the rest is carbonated water.

Without a doubt baking soda cures heartburn within SECONDS of consuming with water. The painless belch after consumption is golden. I rarely get heartburn but when I do I immediately mix a little baking soda with water.

There are literally THOUSANDS of testimonials on the net of people ...

Could you give us links to two or three of the better sites you found? I saw your link to the Youtube testimonial. Thanks!

“The “calcium man” says cancers thrive in a high Ph (acid) and the calcium will help keep the Ph base”

It’s a little difficult to determine where, in the body, one might benefit from a change in pH. I doubt that taking baking soda is going to change your blood pH, as that would be the best indication that the pH in your body was changing systemically. Normally, the blood pH stays between 7.35-7.45. If you really want to see what it is like to shift it towards the basic side, you need merely to start hyperventilating. That’s right, just start breathing hard. Blowing off your CO2 through your lungs is all it takes. Kids do it all the time, and at 7500’, where I live, you have to watch your flatlander house guests as well.

All it takes is a very slight shift towards the alkaline side in your blood pH and you’ll start feeling like crap quite quickly (really!). No problem though, all you have to do is stop blowing off your CO2 and it will build back up again returning your pH to the normal range. That’s why breathing into a paper bag assists in alleviating hyperventilation based alkalosis. It all has to do with the loss of CO2, and the attendant loss of carbonic acid in your blood. Pretty simple concept, but pretty important in keeping your alive as well.

Understand that the pH does not have to shift very much before things start unraveling in a human. If the pH shifts outside of the 7.35-7.45 pH range things start going downhill quickly. If the blood pH shifts outside of the 6.8-7.8 range, it is not compatible with life, ie. death is likely to occur. Understand, these shifts are logarithmic, so it is a big shift. Changing your blood pH is not all it is cracked up to be, from a physiological standpoint. I’m not sure what this “physician” is basing his treatment upon, but I have a feeling that shifting your whole body pH with baking soda is not only improbable, but if it was actually accomplished you might have a lot more to worry about than whether your cancer was going to kill you first.

Just sayin’.

Whoever discovers a cure for cancer is going to become a multi-billionaire like the world has never seen.

As you are pointing out, to say there is “money” in holding back a cure is nonsensical.

There is money in finding a cure.

One wonders why we have toothpaste and floss companies and such items as water-pik. Wouldn’t there be so much more money in letting everyone’s teeth rot???

And what’s with the laser eye surgery? Surely there is more money to be made in fulfilling yearly prescriptions than in a one-time surgery.
