Dan Quayle announced Friday his son is running for Congress. Attorney Ben Quayle (R) will seek the open seat in Arizona's 3rd district, the former vice president told Fox News Channel.
Rep. John Shadegg (R) has announced he won't seek reelection, prompting several GOPers to enter the fray.
Quayle praised his 33-year-old son as the "next generation of leadership."
We are convinced that he will be successful and we're very hopeful that he'll be the next congressman for the 3rd congressional district," he said. "I'll do whatever he wants me to do or whatever he doesn't want me to do."

Will Ben be able to spell ‘potato’ vs. ‘potatoe’?
We are convinced that he will be successful and we’re very hopeful that he’ll be the next congressman for the 3rd congressional district,” he said. “I’ll do whatever he wants me to do or whatever he doesn’t want me to do.”

Stay home, Dad.
Will Ben be able to spell potato vs. potatoe?
Bet he knows we only have 50 States.
Another decent family headed for MSM screwtiny and humiliation.
It has been truly amazing to watch Sarah absorb the slings & arrows.........perhaps she is inspiring others to take up the sword for sanity.
Good luck Ben Quayle.
Well, it’s a given he won’t want Dad to enter a spelling bee.
Better yet can he spell Tea party?
Brief him on 57 states, Potato, and the Austrian language :-)
Can Ben speak for himself?
Ben, originally named “Dayle” Quayle.
Another scion of the ruling class.
“Dan Quayle announced Friday his son is running for Congress.”
Well, if his son wants to run for congress, maybe he should announce it himself.
Isn’t it funny how people keep harping on Quayle spelling potato “potatoe” yet the media totally ignores the empty suit pronouncing corps “corpse”......I hate the media.....and I truly, truly hate libs....
I hadn’t thought of that but you may be right about Sarah inspiring others to jump in.
Sounds familiar.
Ok, if daddy has to make the announcement for you, you may not be ready to run for Congress...
Anyone remember that?
Don't forget "corpse man".
Dan Quayle was a nice guy and the media gave him the Sarah Palin treatment.
It was a setup. Quayle was given cards with words on them. If there had been an internet then, the press wouldn’t have gotten away with sabotaging him. They’re trying it with Palin and the net keeps it from being totally successful.
