Which is why I ignore all updates.
I think somebody posted a link on an Apple-related thread pertaining to a Mac looking and feeling (but not operating) like XP. If somebody can make Mac look and feel just like XP, I’ll pay $800 for a used laptop.

That must be what happened to a computer that I am currently working on. A friend brought it to me yesterday and running a restore is the only thing I could do. I am in process of updating it now. Thanks for the info..I won’t be installing that update!

Microsoft still has not fixed - won’t even admit it exists - that blocks wired network connections when wireless connections are present in Windows 7.
Wired links that worked fine in XP all of a sudden give “No internet access” in Windows 7 upgrades.

Our Dell desktop has the BSD with the error message that our Windows license has expired or something like that. Called Dell. Keep getting a, “Please hang up and try again.” message on the phone when we finally get transferred to India. Love it.

Everyone interested in applying this update should use Macrium Reflect to take an image of the machine first, store it on a separate hard drive, create the Macrium rescue CD and only then apply the patch. If it goes to a reboot loop after blue screening, boot with the Rescue CD and restore the machine from the image. Then forego the update in the future.
I recently had the blue screen and reboot loop problem for entirely different reasons...but Macrium saved bacon Big Time.
