Would a forum to invite newbies to ask questions help increase participation?
I think there is one...in your dreams. :P
A newbie with a vanity?
When did they start allowing THAT?
I was born in 1933...I read instructions...I observe..and I ALWAYS remember that this forum is privately owned. I am a guest.
I jumped in and grew a thicker skin after lurking a long time.
I don’t tell the owner how to run his site.

That works for, excellent. I appreciate how you let your example speak for itself — you are a diplomat.
The whole site is a noob forum.
What’s wrong with that?
nope don’t need it
No, Deb’s in charge here.

At least this is something that will be hard to pin on me.
The bed was already on fire when I layed down....
I don't know what to say to this entire thread, so here's a picture you all might enjoy.
That picture HAS to have been taken in Alaska!
Aw c'mon, it's all just a little good clean fun. And sometimes everybody survives.
Nothing like a good hair fire, I always say (but I'm sorta immune to hair fires).
“What should I do to get more hits for my blog?”
and
“How come Free Republic doesn’t have avatars?”
For the best response you should post them in breaking news.
Perfect. LOL
After all this time, I now know what I haven’t been doing correctly. Thanks.
OK, but why did it (try to) cross the road? :-)
It didn't! There was one of those Alaska earthquakes and the road just shifted right under him!
Good for you. New folk are always treated with suspicion, but I like your grit. I look forward seeing you around these parts.
#2 Introduce urine into the conversation.
“We don’t seek your opinion of our merit. “
Well said. I don’t think I implied otherwise. I liked your post. Part of its charm is that it cuts everyone equally.
Not at all. I'll be 50 soon enough. I wish my Mother could enjoy FR... but that, sadly, cannot happen — too confusing for her. She is very bright, but is not much enamored of the Internet.
“Um, you do realize this is a test, don’t you? “
Yes, I knew that from the beginning. The new kid usually does well to mix it up a bit. I’m not seeing this as traumatic... I’ve spent a lot of time on assorted message boards. Thanks for the tip, though, I can see where there might be doubt.
