Would a forum to invite newbies to ask questions help increase participation?
It is good to note that media moles, political operatives, and trolls in general put no information in their profile...not even their state or country of residence.

Yes. Is there much to learn that is not evident by reading what is here? FR is conservative. fast. rough. funny. been around forever. frequented by assorted personalities. messy.
I first came by when buckhead made the big news. I didn’t stay long. Came back a few times. Hugh Hewitt brings you guys up from time to time.
What else do I need to know?
I am not too worried about the old guard hating on me — its a forum.

They might duct tape your n00b ass to the ceiling.
You can run along back to DU or whatever hole you crawled out of. And please don’t use the term “Our” for FR. You ain’t one of “us” nor will you ever be, after that little tantrum.
And your ideas are just stupid and show zero understanding of FR and how it works.

Gee, you are the expert on tantrums... but I’ll ignore your kind advice. This is a forum, your threats & posturing are ridiculous. Talk about zero understanding, thanks for the demo.
You didn’t fly your colors.
And if your substance gets lost behind your abrasive style, nobody wins. Not you, not us, not FR, not the movement you want to see happen. You probaby have some great ideas. Take a step back from the "you wanna piece of this?" mentality, so we can hear them. Then I think you'll be amazed at how welcoming your fellow FReepers can be.

I’ll happily take your advice & lighten up. I’ll resist the urge to mock internet threats & puffy self-appointed elitist seniors telling me what I’d better do. Dang it, there I go again. Oh well, this will be my last one for a while.
