Yes, the cams were back up by around 5pm pdt.
To Mama Eagle lay her eggs, the parents sit on them, and bring food to the nest, the HATCHING, and then the caring and FLEDGING... is more awesome than I can describe.
I really have to control myself though! Okay..can you feel my passion? LOL
Polly
How long does it take for the hatching and how long until fledging? I know it must be awesome.
Jaycee,
Once the eggs are laid, it takes from 35-38 days to hatch. They usually fledge at 12 weeks. I can tell you first hand that the fledging of one of our BC Eagles three years ago was the most exciting wild life adventure I have experienced!
I have a dear friend who has some absolutely gorgeous photos of Eagles close to her home in Illinois! ( only good thing about that state!! LOL)

I go for my mammogram and bone density on Tuesday. The following Tuesday I see the dentist to get the work started on a new crown. It is always something. Uhhh.
Praying that the lump is only a swollen lymph node due to a minor infection.
I need to bookmark the Eagle Cams. I enjoyed the hummingbird today.
Hope your day was wonderful.
Amy, it looks like you and I are in for the same “ doctoring”!I don’t know which I dread the most... the mammo or the dental!
So you watch Phoebe too! LOL.. I don’t have a lot of time to go there because of Eagle Season. Once you get into Eagles, ola! everything else is chicken feed!
Pretty Slow Right Now, Dear Amy; the Cold Weather has Put a Damper on us, but we Hope to Do a Lot this Spring. Painting of the Living Room is Finished, Except for the Front Door, and we still have to Touch Up Some Bloopers. We've got to Decide if Carpet will be Installed into that Room, or a Laminated Floor. I would Prefer Carpet, but the Expense would be Big. We can Do the Laminated Floor ourselves, and Save a Lot of Money, so we May Do that.
I'm Looking Forward to Painting the Kitchen and All the Kitchen Cabinets, and Installing All the New Handles we Bought Several Months Ago.
We had a Hideous Adventure Recently, Lol; a Squirrel Entered a Hole in the Wood under an Eve, Traveled Down the Inside of a Wall, and Chewed a Hole in the Sheetrock, Emerged into the Living Room, and then Chewed Up some Window Trim. :( He then Apparently Exited the Way he Came in, after his Mission of Havoc was Complete.
JC, There seems to be a problem with the surviving hummingbird in Phoebe’s nest. (http://cam.dellwo.com/) The baby in the nest (Sassy) is not growing feathers as quickly as she should be - and then, she keeps getting her beak stuck in the nest, and seems to have a very hard time removing it. I don’t know if I can watch, if there will be no fledging.....
Yorkie,
I know that today there was a problem with baby’s beak getting stuck. There is always a chance that in the wild world of animals, something can go wrong.I haven’t followed this nest but “hear” about it on the Eagle forums. That is one famous hummingbird! LOL...
Thank you to Everyone for the Pings and Posts!
(((((Goodnight to All FRiends, and God Bless)))))
Here’s something a good Aussie friend sent me, a real keeper!
Rumor
Keep this philosophy in mind the next time you hear,
or are out to repeat a rumor.
In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely
lauded for his wisdom One day the great philosopher
came upon an acquaintance, who ran up to him excitedly
and said, “Socrates, do you know what I just heard about
one of your students...?”
“Wait a moment,” Socrates replied. “Before you tell
me, I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called
the Test of Three.”
“Test of Three?”
“That’s correct,” Socrates continued.
“Before you talk to me about my student let’s take a
moment to test what you’re going to say. The first
test is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what
you are about to tell me is true?”
“No,” the man replied, “actually I just heard about it.”
“All right,” said Socrates. “So you don’t really know
if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second test,
the test of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me
about my student something good?”
“No, on the contrary...”
“So,” Socrates continued, “you want to tell me
something bad about him even though you’re not certain
it’s true?”
The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.
Socrates continued, “You may still pass though because
there is a third test - the filter of Usefulness. Is what you
want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?”
“No, not really...”
“Well,” concluded Socrates, “if what you want to tell
me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell
it to me at all?”
The man was defeated and ashamed and said no more.
This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher
and held in such high esteem.
JC, that is SO pretty. You think I could get a little hook put on it, and wear it as a necklace?
(Thank you for the pretty gif!)
Yesterday, I looked at the hummingbird feeder, and it only had about a quarter inch of syrup left in it. All of a sudden, I thought of "Phoebe", and what if she came to an empty feeder, with that precious little baby waiting for it's mama, to bring her food. I grabbed that feeder, brought it inside, washed it out, made fresh syrup, filled the feeder, took it back out and hung it in the hanger,(all before dusk), and said, "Whew! I can sleep with a clear conscience, tonight." (smile)
VERY nice!
No worries. ...Was just response to #12 ‘miracle’ story
I watched off and on until it was pitch dark. Last I saw Phoebe was quietly sitting on the nest. I do have a feeling this baby may be in some trouble. Makes me sad.
And I wanna answer other posts.....but its so slow I may have to wait a little while. Hope it speeds up soon.
Thank you so much, Kitty! Its Thursday morning and I’m wishing you a very nice day! Things are running a bit slow on the computer but may be improving. I hope!
You are most welcome, Kitty! That was about the cutest kitty ever....what a position it was in! So sweet!
Thanks yorkie. Going through my files again last night and found that. Maybe you could wear for a necklace if that butterfly would be still.....LOL!
