If I personally have to carry him on my shoulders for like 10 yards (as he weighs too much for me), I will do so..all the way to the Hall of Fame
The biggest downside to Kurt Warner is the five year stretch when he played pretty lousy. I think he deserves to get in but that might hurt him with the people who vote. He is one of the good guys on and off the field. Warner was one of the few elite athletes to live up to the expectations of a role model. Too bad that might actually hurt him in this screwed up world we live in.

Yep - both of you make good points. I’m a huge Giant fan and was greatly disappointed in his time here. The Giants offense has always been a running offense with the occasional long play. For that reason, and a lousy offensive line, he never really had a chance to shine here. And, great points regarding being a role model, he’s one of the few who you would want your son to emulate.
Also a great guy, an excellent role model, and a very humble man. I would be the NFL wishes they had a league full of Kurt Warners. First Ballot HoFer. From a Seahawks fan no less...JFK

I was never a fan because of the teams he played for. But, does he deserve to be in the HOF - you betcha.
I would say yes and I acknowledge its a close call. He basically has 3 pretty super years for the Rams and then 4 off years in the middle and came back with two or three good season for the Cardinals. Consider he took two really bad teams to the super bowl. Plus he truly was a great ambassador for the game.

I’ve never been to a ceremony, even though the hall is only 50 miles away. I will be there when they welcome Kurt in. What is it, 5 years after retirement you become eligible?

I was lukewarm about Warner and the Hall until I realized he’d lifted not one but two franchises to their greatest heights in the past 40 years. It’s not the same as all the Steelers and Cowboys and 49ers in the Hall because they played alongside a lot of other Hall-of-Famers. The Cardinals and Rams have been a giant crapfest for most of my lifetime except when Kurt Warner was their quarterback. For that reason alone, he’d get my vote.
Your right Namath is not in their league, the fact is their not in his.
Actually, Jim Kelly is in the Hall of Fame.
I don’t know if I’d buy it based on the passer ratings. First, you’re comparing Warner with 7 quarterbacks who played in eras when passer ratings were lower across the board than they were during Warner’s career. Second, passer rating, for all the goods intentions behind it in attempting to quantify a quarterback’s general effectiveness, is really a garbage statistic.
His 57-44 record is comparable to Fouts and Moon, but to no one else on your list. I don’t remember what the talk was when Fouts was inducted, but I do remember that Moon was not necessarily considered a sure thing despite being one of the most prolific passers of all time. Also, I don’t remember either Moon or Fouts spending any veteran seasons as a backup. I think Warner only started two complete seasons in his career - hardly what I would expect of someone who was a “face of the NFL”.
As for Super Bowl records, there are several Super Bowl winning quarterbacks who aren’t in the Hall of Fame, including:

Ken Stabler (1-0)
Joe Theismann (1-1)
Phil Simms (1-0)
Doug Williams (1-0)
Jeff Hostetler (1-0)
Mark Rypien (1-0)
I’m not saying Warner doesn’t belong in the Hall of Fame - I think there’s an argument to be made. I do have a hard time seeing him as a no-brainer, first ballot Hall of Famer, though.
