Typical Enderle nonsense...
"Typically, for a major product like the iPod, the introduction is on Apple's campus or at an Apple event of some type."
I cannot recall an Apple product announcement at the Apple campus in the last twenty years. . . so Enderle, as usual, is wrong. Apple has usually made their announcements at Macworld or... at the Yerba Buena Conference Center. . . just where this one is being made.
The "Enderle Group" is composed of Rob Enderle and his wife. . . she answers the "group's" phone. . .

I don’t like apple.
But this slate concept seems pretty solid to me, if I’m understanding it. I think it’s basically a huge iphone without the phone. Makes sense. Touchscreens, virtual keyboards, and voice recognition are the future. I’m expecting even the touchscreens will go away in another ten years...replaced by projection displays.

I don't know who the Enderle's are - and I think it's nice that they're running their own business - but you're absolutely right. The original iPod was introduced in Cupertino, but it was not considered very important at the time - most of Apple's big product announcements have taken place in San Francisco, either at MacWorld or more recently at their own Apple press events.

we'll be on pins and needles until we actually know what Steve Jobs is going to have on stage in San Francisco.
Poor Steve looking good is not.

The piece was a whole lot of “It could be this, but it could be that. It could be a triumph, but it could be a failure. It could do well, but it could do even better later. Everyone is releasing all sorts of information, but it’s all a confusing mess.” Sort of like his collection of miscellaneous yin yanging.
