The Illinois primaries are on February 2, not too far away. You're starting to see the papers in that state make endorsements in the primary, and today the Chicago Sun Times endorses one guy who the NRCC thinks is one of their rising stars:
Democrats are not supposed to win in this traditionally Republican district that runs from the southern suburbs to small towns to farm fields. But Democrat Debbie Halvorson did win two years ago, swept into Washington with the Democratic tide, which explains why four GOP contenders, now running in the Republican primary, are eager to take her on in November.
Of these contenders, one looks sure to win this primary and sure to give Halvorson fits. That would be Adam Kinzinger, a captain and pilot in the U.S. Air Force National Guard, who enjoys overwhelming support from local GOP leaders.
Kinzinger gets our strong endorsement. He is a thoughtful and proven conservative, short on pandering angry rhetoric and long on public service. His personal style suggests a maturity that belies his age, just 32.
While a sophomore at Illinois State University in 1998, Kinzinger was elected to the McLean County Board, where he opposed pay raises for elected officials and tax increases. Four years later, he earned easy re-election, with local newspaper support, to another term.
But Kinzinger quit the county board, as well as a job with a technology firm, to go on active duty with the Air Force, having joined up one month after Sept. 11, 2001. He has served three tours of duty in Iraq and two in Afghanistan.
As a congressman, Kinzinger says, he would emphasize conservative fiscal approaches to reviving the economy, including making permanent the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 and cutting corporate taxes to encourage investment and production.
So nice to see our side fielding charismatic conservative candidates who can charm the ladies and talk policy.
WOW! He’s the real deal all right! Go Adam...
Yes, Kinzinger may be the one. But isn’t it just a little suspicious that the poster didn’t name and link to the other three Republican contenders?
Why?

I like the idea of former military men (and women) getting involved. I must be getting old though—everyone looks like they are 12 years old.
I thought he was going to say "I confronted our enemies overseas...and I'll face them at home too."
Does it matter? Find them and post them.
Well, yes, it does matter.
Adam Kinzinger wouldn’t be the first “Republican” bought and paid for at the start of his political career by special interests.
Secondly, this post is different than the Brown win in Massachusetts. This is a post seeking to build support in order to win in a primary, not the general election. It would seem only fitting and proper in order to actually judge this Kinzinger guy, whom most of us never hear of, by his other Republican contenders. I wonder why that wasn’t done — and so should you.

The article does mention that that are 3 other primary candidates but why would it surprise you that a blog called “Campaign Spot” would focus on the one with the most potential star power in the wake of the Brown victory, especially when he just got a big endorsement.
If you don’t like it why don’t you go to the site of origin and talk and attack the actual author of this article and not the poster if it bothers you so much. BTW I will be looking with baited breath at the numerous other candidate threads that will certainly not mention any other contenders and how you will defend them.
Because big endorsements usually means big sellouts to special interests.
Secondly, as I mentioned above, we don’t know whether this guy Kinzinger has, in fact, the most potential star power in the wake of the Brown victory. I would think if this observation were true, posting the links to the other three Republicans would have more easily proven the fact rather than simply declaring it.
So my challenge to this poster is, post the other links and let us decide.

Well, I’ll tell you what: You let me know when someone is stumping for a candidate during a primary with other Republican contenders, and I’ll bring up this same point. So far, this is the only one I have seen who has insulted our intelligence is such a dramatic fashion

I am pretty sure that happens all the time.
I am certain that you have favorite candidates in races before primaries.
My guess is that you have a horse in this race already and you feel hurt because your horse isn’t being promoted here.
One of the things I would like to see the GOP start doing is talking about cutting spending while they talk about cutting taxes. People are tired of them spending like drunken sailors and then cutting taxes. Conservatives do both.
Nothing of the sort. I live in Georgia. I have no horse in the race.
