Did the Minnesota Vikings run up the score on the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff? Keith Brooking(notes) thinks so. A late Brett Favre(notes) touchdown pass infuriated the Dallas linebacker, who charged over to the Vikings' sideline to voice his displeasure. And in his postgame press conference he didn't back down.
The Vikings had held a comfortable 27-3 lead since the early part of the fourth quarter. Dallas looked completely deflated after going down 24 points and the team's subsequent play did nothing to dispel that notion. On the Cowboys' next two possessions the team went four-and-out, gaining a mere 14 yards on eight plays.

Haha I hear ya! I wasn’t a cowboy fan for many years - all during the barry switzer era and fallout from his “leadership” - really loved Green Bay during those years - I’ll watch just about anyone play, but worked with a guy from Virginia years ago and never realized the soul deep gut wrenching hatred the Redskins had for the Cowboys until he told me in great detail! It reminded me more of a high school or college rivalry.....
I agree. No one was keeping the cowboys from playing defense.
At 40, Favre is setting records with each playoff game he plays. He’s entitled to put as many points on the board as possible.
You KNOW the media will not keep the Katrina angle out - it’ll be there next week in the conference championship game and, if the Saints do manage to win, it’ll be even bigger for the SB. The media can’t help it - IQ’s at room temperature make it impossible for them to lay off.
sigh....I know.....
I’ve always maintained Katrina was as much a failure of the governed as it was the government....
Exactly! But, people who have allowed themselves to become dependent upon the government will not help themselves even when the government does not have the capacity to come to their aid.
But this is the NFL, which is the highest level of professional football played by big rugged men. The concept of "running up the score" doesn't exist in the NFL. Good sportsmanship in the NFL went out the window back in the 1950's or 1960's. If a team gets embarrassed because they give up too many points in a game, then that's their own fault. You just lick your wounds and try to play better defense in your next game. But whatever you do, you don't whine and complain that the other team scored too many points on you because you're going to sound like a crybaby if you do.
Note to NFL: Let’s not keep score and everyone should get a trophy and a game ball so their feelings don’t get hurt. This would be so ‘political correct’. </sarcasm>
Regarding the Jazz- Just switch names with the Hornets and call it even. Utah is the Beehive State.
The Jazz will be back where they belong and Pete Maravich can finally rest in peace.
Saints move to San Antonio- Still up in the air. It would crush the spirit of NOLA.
I think Rita Leblanc will keep the team where it belongs. She’s smart and I hope SA, whatever they offer her, would not make her leave. Fingers crossed.
Dallas Fans-Seems you really understand the mindset of the fans and Monday morning quarterbacks that are the sport radio talk in Dallas.
When they win a game, everyone is talking the Super Bowl, when they lose a game, trade, fire and hire someone else. Just cracks me up. The on and off the wagon Cowboy fan.
Jerry-I write and say he fires Wade and trades Romo in jest as you could see.
With that joking, I still wouldn’t put it past him to make a drastic change like that. It’s in his blood. The man loves to win and there is nothing wrong with that spirit.
Yeah, what a bust Russell turned out to be. But we have seen many of those over the years in the NFL. Ryan Leaf always comes to mind.
Karma is a bit%t and all the ribbing I’ve done to the Cowgirls this week, I’m hoping it doesn’t come back in bite me in my Saints AZZ.
Kimball, I believe in one of the post to me, couldn’t find it, Phillips would be with Cowboys next year.
You were right, I was wrong.

You’re 1-0 on coaches against me.
