The USC is explicit on their being a census but silent on its content.

My advice is to just lie — it is more satisfying.

There is only 10 questions on the form this year. Check a few boxes basically and that’s it. Click the following to see them.

Are you sure this is the Census form? I don’t think it has been mailed as of yet.... check on that if you can.

http://2010.census.gov/2010census/how/about-the-form.php

In areas served by the United States Postal Service, postal workers will deliver the initial mailing in mid-March 2010. In all other areas, census takers will deliver the form packages between March 1 and April 30, 2010.

Maybe we should all say we’re considering converting to “Amish”, since they won’t be required to buy health insurance.

I like reading old census reports, especially about my parents and other family members. It gives a good picture of what was going on then. It was 1850 before the U.S. censuses started listing the names of all the family members, and that’s much more interesting than the previous censuses. I wish past censuses had given much more information than they did. What’s the harm? Future generations will be interested.

Why did it take her all day?

Q: "How many people live here?"
A: "One" (or other number)

The census is now completed.

It sounds like she got the ongoing American Survey Form, which asks all the intrusive and illegal questions. Tell her to ignore it.

The 2010 Census forms will go out in March sometime and should only have 10 questions. There is no long and short form this year.

The only reply coming from the Big Truck household is “5”. No race, no income, no age. If the census takers can’t/don’t/won’t accept “5”, then the next answer is “get off of my property.” Unless they can show me in the constitution where I am required to furnish more information, they will be S.O.L.

I was thinking of just not responding to the census. But lying on it sounds like a lot more fun. I just don't want some Fed coming knocking on my door for “the Truth”.

The most important thing that they need, and the one that they’re truly interested in, is how many people live in the residence.

The most important thing that they need, and the one that they’re truly interested in, is how many people live in the residence. Answer that question only.

As reflected in the last sentence...it is against my religion to answer any question not related to number of people in household.....after all...I just found out that financial institutions are having to allow sharia compliant finance “rules”. I am going to say I refuse based on the first ammendment...it violates my right to the pursuit of happiness and my right to liberty.

(a) Whoever, being over eighteen years of age, refuses or willfully neglects, when requested by the Secretary, or by any other authorized officer or employee of the Department of Commerce or bureau or agency thereof acting under the instructions of the Secretary or authorized officer, to answer, to the best of his knowledge, any of the questions on any schedule submitted to him in connection with any census or survey provided for by subchapters I, II, IV, and V of chapter 5 of this title, applying to himself or to the family to which he belongs or is related, or to the farm or farms of which he or his family is the occupant, shall be fined not more than $100.
(b) Whoever, when answering questions described in subsection (a) of this section, and under the conditions or circumstances described in such subsection, willfully gives any answer that is false, shall be fined not more than $500.
(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this title, no person shall be compelled to disclose information relative to his religious beliefs or to membership in a religious body.

I don’t think they’re supposed to be mailed out yet. Make sure the forms are legitimate and not some snail mail phishing scheme.

THIS DESERVES A WHOLE NEW THREAD.

This lady received a fundraising piece of crap from the Republican party.

Michael Steele’s name is all over it. And this is a disgraceful attempt to con people in a census year by calling this Republican solicitation a “2010 CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT CENSUS.”

No answer at: 202/683-8747 www.GOP.com

This is about to explode in the GOP faces.
