Prena Thomas has the usual things in the freezer of her home in Lakeland, Fla. Vegetables, pancakes and fish, she told a Tampa television station.
But she also has a snowball that she made in 1977.
Thomas said that over the decades, she has never had a power outage that would destroy the cold hunk she says is precious to her.
"It's just like a little pet," she said.
However, she does sometimes take it out of the freezer, unwrap the bread bag that contains it and shows it to friends.

My nephew, when he was three put a snowball he made from a Christmas snow in my freezer. It stayed there for about three years. He could ask to see it every Christmas. It lasted until one summer when I left the freezer door open for three days before I noticed. I lost a heck of a lot of meat and veggies on that one.

This was my Christmas present to myself:

It was on sale at K-Mart, and I just couldn't resist. Comes with all kinds of safety warnings.

Yeap, now my grand nephew has a snowball from a pre Christmas snow in my freezer. We will see how long that one lasts. Here is a little of the two feet we got.

BTW, have a donut. We make them on Christmas too.

Before and after ..... I love the way they shovel their nose into the snow and let it melt in their mouth.
