This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Mr.Brown is the first politician I've seen commenting about the cuts to Tri Care health insurance for the Military. Tri Care for Life is going to take a big hit, along with NO COLA raise for 2010, NO COLA raise for SS, and both TRL and Medicare are being cut. Seniors who are retired Military are going to get double whammied

Most of us over 65 have some health problems, this is going to impact our way of life tremendously. We've already cut back as much as possible.

Where we once would have hired someone to remove the worn out tile in our tiny bathroom and repair the damaged floor under the toilet, my nearly 70 year old husband and I are DIYing ourselves and putting down new laminate flooring we were given that is still like new. We also pick up our 35 year old daughter's health ins, as she is just getting her IT business off the ground. And that is if things go as obamacare plans going up 35%

It's not just the retired Military but Veterans as well that will take a hit according to Buyers and McKeon.

Hannity didn't pick up on Mr. Brown's comment about cutting the Military's Tri Care. It needs to go talk radio viral that the dems plan to cut the Military/retired Military's health insurance.

Cutting Seniors Medicare, and then cutting the Military/retired Military's health ins should rile up a great portion of the voting public IF they knew about it all. Most people I talk to don't know about the Medicare cuts, much less the Tri Care cuts. They are shocked to say the least.,P>Met an older lady in the Commissary today, she is whopping mad and said she wanted to join a Tea Party. I gave her a Freerepublic.com business card LOL.

We are not near retirement age, but we do have Tricare...This is the first time I have heard of the Tricare cuts. The more details I get about this “reform” the more disturbed I get.

Several here have tried to lay the blame on GW, as the cuts were first purposed in the 2007 DOD bill...but GW wasn't in control of congress in 2007...botox and dingy were.

Dems haven't like the Military in decades.

I could understand reductions like this, once the easy stuff (National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, The Department of Education) has been zeroed out. Until that time however, it’s really inexcusable.

My husband's Navy retirement check was lighter by $10 this month, thanks to obama fiddling with the tax codes. Then they want more money for Medicare, with less benefits, NEW fees for Tricare for Life, a promised benefit to our Military if they served 20 or more years at below civilian wages and in harms way, had to go months without seeing their families...all so so illegal alien can have FREE health care..FREE college is next I expect. DOD tries this crap constantly.

This is inexcusable.
