New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is defending his latest so-called nanny initiative a controversial crackdown on salt by comparing the simple seasoning to killer asbestos in the classroom. "Salt and asbestos, clearly both are bad for you," Bloomberg said. "Modern medicine thinks you shouldn't be smoking if you want to live longer. Modern medicine thinks you shouldn't be eating salt, or sodium."
Do you think the government should be telling you how much salt you should eat?

Oh take off the tin foil hat. You won’t even notice the difference with less salt products.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's not the point.
Especially when they change the rules so they can be re-elected again and again and have more terms than they should.
nah, we won’t notice less salty products, but we will wonder why they smell awful and turn green sooner.
What is the point? I usually take your position on this. But I’m gettingo the point that I can’t get upset over stuff like this anymore. I have more pressing problems in my life than salt.
I’m saying this as I sprinkle salt in my beer at the local watering hole :o)
Yeah, like eating less bread. What a concept.
Do you want to have to use an “outlawed shaker of salt” for your beer? Guess Jimmy Buffet saw it coming. Cheers.
Those that believe so, should then be OK with the Fed regulating sexual activity for the same reasons.
I should have looked up the lyrics first, i always thought it said “outlawed shaker of salt” not “lost shaker”.... oh well, end result is my lyrics would fit also.
Thanks m’lady. You saved me the trouble of posting the first of 3 nanny stories today.

Post away, Sir Eric! :-)
Well, if that's true (and it's not) modern medicine can just mind it's own fooking business.
I don’t think you are conservative at all..
In answer to your question, right now only half of medical care is subsidized by the Government through Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP.
And we have this crap. After all, if government is paying for your healthcare, it is their right, indeed their elected duty to intervene and save taxpayer money. Why should thin taxpayers pay for the bariatric surgery, high blood pressure and diabetes meds for fellow citizens. What you eat is my business.
“Your right to eat double whoppers with fries ends where my wallet begins.”
Well, I voted ‘no’ but the poll itself is kind of silly. The politicians have clearly shown us that they don’t care what we think.
