Rivers, 76, was deemed a danger to national security and booted from a Newark-bound flight in Costa Rica on Sunday by a jittery Continental Airlines gate agent who found the two names on her passport fishy.
Her passport reads: Joan Rosenberg AKA Joan Rivers. Rosenberg was her late husband's last name.
The "nasty and cruel" Continental gate agent bumped Rivers from the last flight out Sunday and the comedian found herself alone (her daughter, Melissa, flew out to Los Angeles earlier in the day) and with no ATM card and just $100 cash, she said.

Anyone involved in this decision regarding Joan Rivers needs to be fired immediately. (Not "reassigned.") Anyone who defends anything in the process that removed Joan Rivers from her flight should similarly be terminated, and also committed to a mental institution.

The most polite thing that I can say is that she was distasteful to be around.
As to the subject of this post....naturally, I wasn't there. But the agent at the gate might have had, erm, "extenuating circumstances".
Just sayin'. There might be more to this story than what's being reported.

In fairness to Joan, the slobber really isn't her fault. She can't really control most of her face anymore. But she looks great! (Well, not so much but in her mind...)
Wasn’t she charged with throwing a phone at a hotel employee in New York a coupla years ago? You’re right, she mighta been coping a big-time ‘tude, so the gate agent had some sweet revenge.

Joan is a liberal, but not off the PC deep end. She has no problem getting in the face of those who insinuate she’s a racist for not supporting race-based policies.
Anyway, I can’t make any judgment on this article, other than to say it seems an odd “call” for the agent to make, esp. for a 76-year-old lady with a Jewish name and a very thick Noo Yawk accent.
This happened in Costa Rica. The gate agent is likely a local, no?

After 9/11, there was some suggestion of using a portion of the money collected (by the Red Cross?) to fund "outreach" programs to the Muslim community. Joan was on camera when she heard about that; she told the person who made the suggestion to go pound sand. Not those words exactly, but her meaning was quite clear. She was livid.
