Thanks for the posting. Kimbrough is still legend on the campus in College Station. They just dont write like that anymore. Back when Bowl games meant something.

yeah, thanks Homer, I’m starting to read these more and more. So, I guess USC would have won the “National Championship” in 1939?

USC deserves the national championship. The Trojans went undefeated in 1939, and their accomplishments include beating Notre Dame at home and holding UCLA to a 0-0 tie in the Coliseum. The Bruins have yet to beat the Trojans since the teams began playing one another a decade ago.

Incidentally, USC hasn't lost a game since being upset by the Washington Huskies last year on the day after Armistice Day.

I can hardly wait until September, when Washington State comes to the Coliseum to kick off the '40 season. Beat the Cougars!
