did you go in or watch it?

I watched it. The best view of it was from WAAY TV tower cam on top of Monte Sano looking down on Huntsville while the storm was crossing the city. The funnel cloud didn't look like it went all the way to the ground but you could still see transformers exploding below the funnel so, you knew that the wind was doing damage.

Of course I’m going to say “ Those Yorkie’s are adorable, especially in the patriotic RED sweater” !
Yes, the weather was so strange and it hit everywhere in Az. In Flagstaff it snowed alot, then rained alot, then snowed alot again. Never heard of such a thing. It rained all day here and got very, very windy for a time. That’s when the SMALL dog warning comes out. LOL! But all is safe, thanks for your thoughts.

So sweet, JC! Thank you!

Below is a picture I took from my front porch today.
Now you can see why I had to use a broom,
To shake the snow off my weeping spruce.

It was a white out for about two hours.

.......And now it has started again.

Sometimes I get a bit nostalgic, my thoughts turns to other days and seemingly another life. This is the result.

Where the Spark Still Burns

To those on the old road
it was just another barn
Weathered grey and forgotten
a broken memory

To me, a place of wonder
a dry haven for dreams
where a kid could be a King
and adventures common

The old loft
piled with forgotten hay
became a strange new world
for explorations grand

The old wagon
below was my throne
Where I ruled most fair
benevolent in all ways

A place where the sunbeams
showed dancing dust motes
Making me wonder
setting me to dream

Here I found the spark of imagination
and found my soul’s delight
Sheltered from harsher realities
and cold hard truths

King and knight, and great hunter
traversing the veldt
Seeking the mines of Solomon
and the farthest reaches of the Amazon

Its all gone now
just a tract of older homes
Where other lives begin
there where the dreams bloomed

Yet it remains
echoes in my heart and soul
Forever mine here within
where the spark still burns

Giving Up?
I alone am left; and they seek to take my life. —1 Kings 19:10

Have you ever felt like giving up? Elijah did. The Lord had just used him to show the nation of Israel that the Lord is God (1 Kings 18). Yet, the threats of Queen Jezebel so alarmed him that he ran to Beersheba, 100 miles south (19:3). Then he walked another 150 miles south to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Twice God asked Elijah what he was doing there (vv.9,13). Both times he answered with identical words—“I alone am left; and they seek to take my life” (vv.10,14). He had become so preoccupied with his own fears that he had forgotten what God had done through him at Mount Carmel. Despite his great victory, Elijah plunged into the depths of discouragement. How easy it is for us to do the same.

God did not accept Elijah’s notice that he was quitting. Instead, He commissioned his tired servant to handle three major tasks (vv.15-17). And by the way, Elijah was wrong when he said he was the only faithful one left. God had 7,000 others who had not bowed to Baal (v.18).

Perhaps, like Elijah, you are despairing at the circumstances in your life. Let God speak to you (v.12). Instead of allowing you to quit, He will show you what you can do through His strength.

Our strength and hope is in the Lord—
We rest secure in His sure Word;
And though we’re tempted to despair
We know we’re kept within His care. —D. De Haan

When you’re working for Jesus, it’s always too soon to quit.

They stayed with it until the dog was rescued. They cut for commercials, etc. It did bite that man, they interviewed him on Fox this morning. He had a huge bandage on his thumb! They have had thousands of calls, wanting to adopt that dog. The owner has not come forward yet! People are so wonderful, aren’t they?
