Where in the world have you been? You didn’t answer my mail and I’ve been wondering if you’re sick or maybe Lindy was worse.....just couldn’t figure it out.
Glad you galz enjoyed your favorite tune again! :)
Yes, it was very sad news to hear, Billie.
But, then I watch the news, and see all the devastation in Haiti, and I am so greatful to have a warm bed, food in my tummy and freezer, heat and air conditioning, a sound roof over my head, and water - with the turn of a faucet, and can reach my doctor at any time with my telephone.
I saw a man on TV today, walking along. A reporter asked him what it was he had in his hand. He said, “It’s a can of peas. It’s all I have left.”
I feel so humbled - and my little furry friend seems so inconsequential - to the real problems in this world.

Thank you, yorkie..I would have responded earlier but I was trying to retrieve my graphics files that I deleted and was staying offline..I did not even know there was an earthquake because I wasn’t on FR or listening to TV.
When a beloved pet is so ill..I know how hard it is to deal with. They are truly family.
(((HUGS)))
I pray Lindy improves more and more.
It is so good to know Shallie is improving!

The World Health Organization (WHO) is considering a plan to ask governments to impose a global consumer tax on such things as Internet activity or everyday financial transactions like paying bills online.
Such a scheme could raise “tens of billions of dollars” on behalf of the United Nations’ public health arm from a broad base of consumers, which would then be used to transfer drug-making research, development and manufacturing capabilities, among other things, to the developing world.
Awwwww, that’s so sweet. Thank you, JC!
Today became rather busy .... so another excuse for being
AWOL.
Marissa started complaining about her throat hurting. I looked and one tonsil looked really swollen. Took her in without an appointment. They took a culture but they think it is a viral infection. Her temp is normal. They did prescribe anti-biotics. We go back next Wednesday for a followup.
Yesterday was Jr’s birthday and today is MrJust’s birthday so we celebrated tonight. Jr came up after work. Marissa was excited. She helped me with dinner and she sang louder than I did when we did the birthday song as they cut the BR’s ice cream cake.
I hope everyone had a great day.
Sweet dreams; I hope to see you tomorrow.
Thank you, Just Amy! Just what I needed! I sent it to almost everyone on my mailing list! May you have a wonderful week-end! I know I will since Football is over! Enjoy California for me!:)
Roadhouse Blues
He sat on an otherwise empty stage, a solo star,
in a tarpaper sided roadside bar closed for the night,
and picked the worn nylon strings of his old guitar,
venting his silent rage in each note with all his might.
Soulful, reaching, dragging memories out of the very air,
played from his heart alone, fighting the demons of his mind.
Bittersweet the music and the moods it evoked in him there,
and set the night alive, to dreams he thought hed left behind.
His audience, Father Time and the Fates doing downtime,
the music of a soul held a power that flowed out among the stars.
God and the Angles had the tables on the left, tapping to mark the time.
the music left a better place in its roiling current in that empty bar.
The last haunting note hung in the quiet air of dawn for so long,
the tired worn player sat his guitar down and stood listening to the night.
He thought he heard clapping, he swore he heard the echoes of his song,
and as he walked from that small stage, he wore a unseen halod light.
Contrast Ramses desire for glory with the attitude of Paul and Barnabas. On one of their missionary journeys, they faced a situation during which they refused to accept vainglory. When a crowd in the idolatrous city of Lystra saw them heal a crippled man, the people exclaimed, The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men! (Acts 14:11). They immediately prepared animals to sacrifice in honor of Paul and Barnabas. But the two quickly objected, saying, We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God (v.15).
We do not rival the apostles in our accomplishments for God, but we all have things we do for Him. Its then that we must be glory deflectors, making sure God gets all the glory for everything we have done.
Wish we could have helped you celebrate!
Hope it was a happy one for you both!
Oh YES it is Meg! To think that we sat around our table talking about the " other option" gives us chills. So glad we went with our instincts!!
