All things considered I still figure the Iggles to go into Dallas and take care of things. But any of the 6 NFC teams really can make a run to Miami, just like the previous poster said.

You can’t come close to saying that in the AFC, where there is a clear cut separation between the 6 potential teams.

Nope. It’s a done deal, although it makes perfect sense. If NBC wanted to flex a game, it had to be a game that was CBS’ Since they had taken 1 more game from FOX to this point.

But this week, both networks should be allowed to have doubleheaders so that we could have 5 games on to watch(unless you’re at a bar or have the NFL package)

Ah, I figured they still had time, and Fox and CBS can’t protect games on Week 17. I guess they would have had to do it today.

And I still don’t understand why they don’t have doubleheaders on both networks every week. It seems to me that both the networks and the NFL would make more money with an extra national broadcast. It’s hard to see how the relatively few NFL Sunday Ticket subscription fees they’d lose can really compete with broadcast ad revenues.

Bend, hate to tell you, but neither team will want to show the other team their capabilities
so the game will be more like "you win, no you win". I wouldn't count on the Packers winning for stategery reasons.

I do know this... The Packers are better than all of them!

Come to think of it though......in essence the playoffs start this coming weekend
and the Packers and Saints have byes since neither has anything to play for while the other
teams are still vying for position.

May a pox of injuries be upon y'all as you jockey for position making the road to the NFC Championship that much easier for the Packers!

As far as playoff seedings, the Cowboys can get the bye if they win, the Packers beat the Cardinals, and the Giants beat the Vikings. If the Eagles win, they get the bye. If the Eagles lose and Vikings win, the Vikings get the bye. This means the Cardinals WILL have something to play for if the Giants beat the Vikings in the early game.

In the AFC, the Jets and Ravens are "Win and in." Here's the weird part. If the playoffs started today, the Broncos would be in on strength of schedule. HOWEVER, after the Broncos play the Chiefs and the Ravens play the Raiders, the Ravens will have strength of schedule. All the other AFC teams have to win and hope for help. This means the AFC playoff seedings won't be set until the Sunday night game between the Bengals and Jets is over. Quick note, the Jets have two games in a row against teams that are in the playoffs and will have nothing to gain, so will likely rest their players. The only caveat is the Bengals and Pats are both playing in the first round, but it's undetermined which will play the higher or lower ranked wild card, so the Bengals might be playing to get a home game against one 9-7 team or another.

Considering the Bengals and Colts both may pass on chances to kill the Jets, I wonder if that may come back to haunt them in the playoffs.

Rich, let’s not give me a migraine.

It is unfortunate that you have discovered that DEN has the strongest S.O.V. right now. But they cannot have it at 9-7 vs. Jets.

And BALT’s S.O.V. is very weak. BALT beat DEN earlier in the year (head-to-head victory), which is how they sneak past them in the 2-way tie for #6 seed.

I am grateful that most of the “scenarios” garbage I am reading doesn’t include

“Balt Tie and loss or tie by Pitt, & loss by NYJ .... yadayda ...”

what happens if they all tie and end up 8-7-1? NOT INTERESTED.

if PHIL loses and goes to 11-5, GB at 11-5 has tiebreaker and gets #5. so GB still needs to win.

Even if the Beagles win, the Packers have the tie-breaker over the Cowpies, but I still think that the fact that they will likely play the Buzzards two weeks in a row impacts how the Packers and Buzzards approach the game. While trying to win they will not play their starters too long and will only use a limited play selection on both offense and defense.

In other words, not letting the opponent learn first hand how to counter the offensive and defensive scheme is much more important than being #5 or #6.

The Colts will beat the Bills if Jim "Cool It!" Caldwell doesn't declare a forfeit by resting all his players.

Carolina is on a roll and the N'awleans Ain'ts continue their fall from grace. The Panthers pounce with a win.

Da Bears struggle and Cutler probably throws 9 or 10 picks, but they will beat the Lions.

The Terrible Towel Stooler Magic is gone and the Phins will come out on top.

Danger... Danger... Danger... Brettie Favre!

There will be muffled crying and howling in Mudderland this day as Manning Lite stumbles and fumbles while pulling his hapless Jersey Jints past big's beloved Viqueens, now known as Brett's Latest Collapse and next to last retirement off season. Next season, Brett will play for either the just moved Lake Wobegon Raiders or the Montreal Alouettes.

And although I can’t really figure out why the JETS are 8.5 point favorites, oh wait, I forgot the entire officiating crew lives in New York, so I guess the JETS will eek one out against the BENGIRLS and secure the final playoff spot.....

And it involves again something I hate to do. I’m picking AGAINST MY BELOVED PACK against the BUZZARDS. In the grand scheme of things it won’t mean much as the Pack begins its SB44 run by winning road games anyway. Depending on what happens in Minneapolis and with events in Dallas at the same time, this game means much more for Zona and I’m figuring they want to remind everyone who represented the NFC in SB43.

Should be a great game, maybe one of the best of the year. But alas, with most of us stuck with PHI/DAL in the late slot on FOX, many won’t be able to watch.....
