Go Urban Meyer, get your health in check and have a great and long life!

Thank you Urban, there’s more to life than football, and he made the right choice.

I think it boiled down to realizing that after winning two championships, and knowing from that point on the bar had been set so high, that after the Bama loss and knowing that a 13-1 season would still be considered a disappointment, and with the health scare, that it wasn’t worth the risk to his health. He’s climbed the mountain, I think he’ll continue in some capacity in football, but I don’t see him coaching again.

Well, I suppose that the rumors can now begin that UF will now go after Kyle Whittingham. Our fans are worried about it.

With the news that Urban has been in and out of hospital multiple times since Dec. 5th, I’m taking UM at his word with the hope that he can be in good health and enjoy his family.
I wouldn’t be suprised if you see him in front of a network camera with a mic in his right hand.

Possible candidates, there are many. I’m going outside the box on this, that is till you see the name and it won’t be as far fetched as it seems......

Terry Bowden. Name recognition stays in Fla. And has the SEC background in place. Another interesting possibility is from the NFL, and I’m not talking current/former head coaches either. How about Jason Garrett. I don’t think Jerry will have a problem losing him to a college program. Makes sense considering he has free rein over the ‘boys offense anyway.....

Coaching at Florida will do that to you. Sorry to see him go.

You think they might talk to Spurrier about the job?

*groan*

Perhaps his younger and less talented brother, Suburban Meyer?

I kind of liked FL and Meyer, but I lost a lot of respect for him when he had players who were sick with the flu playing in a game. That was dangerous for the players, and put other people at risk of catching the flu. Very bad form.

I like Tim Tebow, too. He may get a bit worked up at times, but he seems like a good guy. We taught our kids at home, so I tend to keep tabs on homeschoolers in the news.

It sounds like Meyer will still be involved at UF, and might even eventually become AD if and when Foley steps down. I think he is done with coaching. Now had he not had those two titles, he probably would feel different. But really, even if he wanted to coach elsewhere, I think he realizes that there really isn’t that much more to obtain in terms of coaching, and it’s not worth the cost in personal terms.

So according to ESPN, the word now is that Meyer is NOT resigning/retiring, but taking a leave of absence next season and will return when he feels ready. Press conference coming up at 4:30 EST.

Yeah man, where would Bama be if it weren’t for Mike Slive, the SEC office in BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA, and all the obviously corrupt SEC officials.
I would like someone to give me an example where one “Replay” has gone against Alabama.

Hotty Toddy!

TAW

Thanks for the ping. Best of luck to him. Don’t think he’s retiring. Its in his blood, like most coaches.

We still walk around this house saying “Corch Meyers”, like the idiotic congresswoman from Florida said when she “gradulated” The Florida Gatah on winning the national championship! Go Gatah!
