Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, the lovebirds-turned-Hollywood power couple who met while filming 1988's "Bull Durham," separated over the summer after 23 years together and have called it quits. Today it was made official.
Publicist Teal Cannady confirmed the split and said no further comments are forthcoming.
Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, have two sons together -- Jack, 20, and Miles, 17. Sarandon has a daughter, actress Eva Amurri, from a previous relationship. Though they were together for more than two decades ...
... the couple never married, attracting attention for that, for the difference in their ages and for their liberal political activism. As a couple, they supported John Edwards' presidential candidacy but then shifted support to Barack Obama -- though you probably won't find Susan playing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton any time soon.

Tim thinks Hussein is yummy. Susan is an ultra Liberal Nazi, hates him for being a Big Softie.
No commitment=no commitment.
She’s a slut and he’s a stud like on a horse farm.
The kids are of no importance to them — just designer jewelry.
And he grew up 10 miles away from where I grew up (in So. Cal’s San Gabriel Valley) — I assure you none of us have a British accent like he does.
>>I thought we killed them? <<
F Yeah!
What happened? Did Tim decide to star in Howard the Duck II or something? He did a good job in the first one....(coughs)
Aaaah, one of them became a fan of Glen Beck and the other one called it quits on that. One can only hope.
Two people so thoroughly in love with themselves eventually noticed that there was someone else in the room. Took them long enough.
"Hey guys, Susan is single again!...BOOYA!"
63? They’re starting to sag a little, aren’t they, Tim?
” Oh woe is me,
My life is a mystery
And can't you see
That I'm at the start of a pretty big downer.”
Fourth marriage will be the charm....yeah right.
I used to play hockey in an amateur adult league. Mostly 30-something year old guys on my team, with a couple of younger guys and one or two 40+ players in the mix. One of our younger players was a guy in his mid-20s who was just finishing an ROTC commitment and wanted to get back into the game after a long layoff (he had played on a Northeastern collegiate team some years earlier). His last ROTC assignment was in the New York City metro area, which meant he had a chance to play in a casual adult league with friends of his (he was originally from the area) while working his way back into playing shape.
He played with us for one season, then signed up for a second season while he also joined a semi-pro team that played at the Chelsea Piers facility in Manhattan. He played in both leagues simultaneously, and missed an occasional game whenever both of his teams had games scheduled on the same night.
One day he was sitting in the locker room with us before a game, talking about a game he had played in Manhattan the previous night with his other team. Tim Robbins played on the opposing team. I knew he was a Canadian and a hockey fan, but I had no idea he also was a serious player.
I asked my teammate what it was like to play against him.
"He's a real @sshole," the guy said. "He's a big, tall guy who plays a very aggressive -- borderline dirty -- style of play, but wears a full cage and face shield to protect his pretty face."
For those of you who aren't hockey fans, this is a breach of the unwritten "code" that says aggressive, physical players shouldn't wear all of the same protection that a smaller, less physical player might wear.
It turns out my teammate was also a very physical player. And his assignment for the game against Robbins' team was to get on the ice whenever Robbins was taking a shift, chase Robbins all over the ice, and antagonize him with the intent of getting Robbins to lose his cool and take stupid penalties.
This guy's description of the things he would say to Robbins during the game was absolutely hysterical.
"Hey, Timmy -- I think Susan's got a hot body, but her face is ugly as sh!t!"
"Hey, Timmy -- Ya better get home fast after this game is over. If I get there before you, Susan ain't gonna want you no more!"
"Hey, Timmy -- I gotta ask you this before I head over to your place . . . Where do you keep the bags you put over her head before you [EXPLETIVE] her?"
After that last comment, Robbins went ballistic and took 14 minutes in penalties -- a double minor for slashing and a ten-minute misconduct. He never settled down for the entire game after that.
ROFLOL!
My 15 min of fame ... I flew the helicopter that filmed and dropped the cash in that movie .. never met those two though .../p>
Two creeps.
did I see tiger in the back ground?
He was also great in Men in Black.
Gawsh, is she really that much older than Robbins?
