It’s an unnatural act for a Dem senator to oppose the D leadership on what they perceive as the biggest vote in 100 years.
I’m not supporting or approving, I’m just saying that making Ben Nelson in the villain isn’t going to help our cause one iota. He knows this is unpopular back home, and he’ll probably announce that he’s retiring and won’t run again anyway.

send metal slugs. those punch out pieces from the electrical boxes. i have several hundred I have been holding for a special ocassion ( actually was going to take them to a metal recycler, along with copper, brass and so forth, once a year visit).

The Dems could have had a simple vote weeks ago - 60 Ayes, Motion Carried. The WHOLE drama here has centered about getting payoffs for holding out.
Nelson is just a better poker player than the average Senator. Mary Landrieu decided to call when she saw the color of their money a couple of weeks ago.
Forget Nelson. His vote was never in doubt, only the concessions were.

Heck, I live in IL and Rollie Burris said he wouldn’t vote for it unless he could bring a public option back to his constituents. So, that’s his price - now we’ll see if he gets it, or if he folds under pressure (which I expect).
