Tiger Woods’ Wife Elin 'Wants Half His Fortune' as She Prepares to Meet Divorce Lawyers
The Daily Mirror (UK) ^ | 12/16/09 | Ryan Parry

Tiger Woods’ devastated wife has called in California’s top celebrity divorce lawyer, say her friends.

And Elin Nordegren – rocked by her husband’s string of alleged affairs – could get half the £337.5million he has earned in the five years they have been married.

The 29-year-old Swedish model, seen out in Florida yesterday minus her wedding ring, is believed to be meeting celebrity lawyer Sorrell Trope next week.

Trope, 82, a partner in Californian law firm Trope and Trope, has represented big-name stars including Cary Grant, Nicole Kidman, Nicolas Cage and Britney Spears in a 60-year career.

And in another blow to Woods, Elin is believed to be planning to file for divorce in California – where the couple have a home – and not Florida, where they live.

Under California law the “no-fault divorce”, introduced in 1970, means there is an equal division of assets and property.

This could mean that any pre-nup agreement Elin signed with the golf star will be torn up.

A source said: “Mr Trope is the best divorce lawyer in the business and the divorce laws in California are much more favourable than most other states.

“Elin can fight for half of what her husband has earned since they were married. And Trope can bust through any pre-nup – he’s done it many times before.”

Last night, when asked if he was representing Woods’ wife as her divorce lawyer, Trope replied: “Not right now.”

Friends say Elin will spend Christmas in Orlando with the couple’s children, daughter Sam Alexis, two, and son Charlie Axel, 10 months, before filing for divorce in the New Year.

I think he believed that driving it straight off the cliff would pretty much guarantee a perfect landing on the other side.

Heh heh, at 100 MPH no less.

What kind of partnership is it where one party EARNS all of the money? Again, compensate her for domestic duties (ie raising the kids) but NO WOMAN deserves HALF. It is People's Republic of Calipornia that started this "steal half the man's hard earned money" BS.

If only we can take all of the Gloria Allred's of the world, and the judiciary that has supported this Feminazi scam, and send them north to Canada, with NO chance at return.

You can see this is a sore point with me, and I've never been married. I am just a Y-Chromosome carrier ANGRY at the Feminized judiciary that steals a man's hard earned pay. FIVE FRIGGIN YEARS OF MARRIAGE and the female dog gets half? BARBARA STREISAND!!!

So can I assume that you would join me in promoting a new national law that says any woman who engages in an affair is legally defined as "not a responsible parent" and her children are immediately taken away from her and "handed" to the father who controls any further contact with the mother. LMAO...

LMAO, indeed! They would instead be speculating about what he did to "provoke" her to do it.

I'm just taking a "wild" leap that you were most likely divorced in the state of California?

She should get half - and I'm a guy. Marriage is a partnership. If that's not what you want then don't get married. Simple.

You single guys out there, look at this thread with eyes wide open. We know he cheated. We don't know what went on behind closed doors.

You can be sure, as a guy, that you will get the short end of the stick, financially, in regards to custody, and legally.

You may be thinking, I would never cheat on a babe like that. It is true, however, that no matter how beautiful a woman, there is a guy somewhere tired of her cr@p.

Don't think with your little head, don't think that being married means a love life...ask a minister about the jar and the beans...

If guys didn't buy that lie, they wouldn't get married. Know that whatever happens, your wife will receive the benefit of the doubt, at your expense.

Don't believe me? Read through the thread, again.

Looks like lots of Tigers ho’s are posting on this thread trashing Elin. A young woman as unlike them as night and day. Many that know Tiger believed she was too good for him. Turns out they were right.

Got a little anger towards women, do you? And if/while your mother was home raising your father’s kids, she should have essentially been only the paid help? Yeesh!

The bottom line is that Elin has contributed essentially nothing to the family that we know of during their years of marriage.

So two children are essentially nothing.

She contributed everything but money to the marriage and created a family and the appearance of normalcy where there was none, but that's nothing because all that counts is money. Is that how it works?

That's just sad.

What did she do to deserve that money? She built a life with him, gave him two beautiful children, was unfailingly circumspect in her actions, kept herself in fabulous shape for him, loved him, and incurred the risk of potentially life threatening viruses he may have transmitted to her through his dealings with trashy women. He made her entire life with him a joke, humiliated her, and made a laughingstock of them as a couple. Their children will hear about it for the rest of their lives.

“The bottom line is that Elin has contributed essentially nothing to the family that we know of during their years of marriage.”

She has contributed her fidelity and two children.

In God’s eyes these are of tremendous value.

We do not live in a theocracy, in the sense you use the term. Yet the principle remains. Apparently his sin, although forgiveable, is worthy of death, just like murder is forgiveable, and yet is worthy of death.

She is a “used” woman now, someone else’s former wife, her body has been used, she has another man’s children. She has little hope for a good marriage and life anymore. In a sense, he has “killed” her. She is no longer a particularly desireable wife.

And you say she has contributed essentially nothing to this marriage? She gave the best of herself. It’s gone.

I do not think women are entitled to half a man has earned at his level of earnings simply for being married to him for 4 years....period.

It's nuts.

Guys 100 years ago would be laughing at us asking who cut off our balls?

Mom or the school teachers or the wife.

Now if a woman slaves to put the nerd thru medical school and he does that for 12 years till he's a master of the universe and starts making big bucks and notices hotties with long doe legs and big boobs and great hair....say a Ukranian nurse...are now throwing themselves at him and he dumps loyal wifey and mom to the kids born whilst he was an intern and she's now 40 plus and not as attractive and so forth then she is entitled to good compensation....same for any life partner who got some sweat equity from somewhere besides on her back....then yea....be prepared to pay well...hell, I would just as a matter of honour.

I would never and never have abandoned a woman who was depending on me. I always even left girlfriends with the stuff and adequate funds. I almost came to blows with a fellow conservative (yep..a scoundrel of one) who dumped his fiancee after 4 years on her birthday deadassed broke with nothing....my wife and I took her in and helped her start over and loaned her a few grand...and she paid me back...which is rare ...

as for kids....damn fellow ought to want to help them but you don;t want to just pad her alimony or whatever either....in a perfect world I would like to be able to itemize paying the mom for the kids...most of the time the mom just spends it as she wants...especially if she remarried then it's lagniappe for her....judges could care less....for the record I paid 45,000/year for 12-13 years and she left me...this is a subject matter I know..and I am still supporting said daughters..gladly thru college and law school

this is one arena where the femmebots have clocked us cold...woman gets the kids and the cash and it matters not who screwed who...

no fault divorce is to blame..

but back to Tiger....nope, she is entitled to be bought off and good support for the kids but that's it....I'd fight like hell were I him...even though he is a sick pup to do that to her....some of those gals were off the charts skank.....urban gang bang white girl lost in the hood fetish..yuck and just think about that irony for Mr I Crave Blonde White Girls?

anyhow...what a train wreck..poor kids and poor wife (i guess, she could be a shrew who knows...she probably will be one now)

Thank you! I have been floored at those on this thread calling Elin a “gold-digger” and worse. I despise the sort of woman that these people are painting Elin to be which she is not... not even close.

I did not think I would ever live to hear myself say this, but I hope she takes him for every dime he has. Tiger was very lucky to have found a woman of her caliber, then turned around and cheated on her with the type of woman one would expect him to be exposed. He is despicable.

Is that from Elin banging the club over his head or necessary to avoid certain appendages that seem to be in a constant state of protrusion from Cheetah’s body?
