SALT LAKE CITY Utah police say the husband of a 28-year-old woman who disappeared more than a week ago is hindering the investigation.
West Valley City Police Capt. Tom McLachlan says Josh Powell didn't show up for an interview Monday on the advice of his attorney. McLachlan says that's costing authorities valuable time in the effort to find Powell's wife, Susan.

Scott Peterson went ‘fishing’ on the day his wife disappeared, now this goon went ‘camping’?
Yeah, how coincidental.
I’ll listen to the professionals, thank you.
Every statistic points to this guy, but getting a lawyer is the only way an innocent man will protect and exercise his rights.
Oh yeah, who goes CAMPING in the morning and comes home in the evening? Hiking? Sure. Fishing? Absolutely. But camping? Sounds like he went to the woods to dispose of her body while the boys were napping or distracted in the car.
unfortunately, I think we both know she is a gonner and her weirdo husband did it.
And since the police will be thinking the same way you are... we can see the reason why one is always advised to never talk to the police... :-)
How much are you willing to bet he’s GUILTY?
I saw this husband interviewed last night. He sounded like Susan Smith (who drowned her kids in SC a few years ago) with his fake sobbing and sounded absolutely phony. 100% guilty.
Yep.
Just holding out hope.
Ya just never know.
Hell,
This could be a play for a new damned “reality show”.
Lots of crazies out there.
***Sounds like he went to the woods to dispose of her body while the boys were napping or distracted in the car.***
My first instinct too;(
I’ve seen the video.
It is mind-bogglingly stupid in the case of a missing family member possibly a victim of foul play where minutes or hours could make a difference for someone who is innocent to delay communicating with the authorities until after hiring and briefing a lawyer.
I heard yesterday that they left at midnight as well, a 2 yr. old and a 4 yr. old! Give me a break. Been camping many times before, but we usually try to go and set up camp in daylight. Bizarro
True dat...:)
I’d bet $100 that he’s guilty.
That’s not the point and somebody familiar with how the criminal “justice” system REALLY works would know that.
Even a guilty man should be smart enought to get a lawyer. And plenty of innocent men have learned that lesson the hard way.
And I bet it was a little warmer than 7 degrees when you went camping, too! :)
Nope,
She just left telling her husband about what she was up to.
Two teen aged kids. She even came home for the daughters birthday.
Bet that was fun.
Rumor has it she was not REAL faithful to begin with.
I live in a small private community.
Sounds like you KNOW!!
Yep.
First hand, sister.
First hand.
I do not talk to cops nor news reporters anymore.
Smart... it keeps you from being “Joe Plumber sitting in jail”... LOL...

Well, I think we can say "this about that"....
It's mind-bogglingly stupid in the mind of a non-professional (i.e., "not an attorney") to do this...
And -- we can say that it is very smart in the mind of a professional (i.e., attorneys who advise on these things...).
Okay, so do we take the advice of a "non-professional" or a "professional"... :-)

LOL. I notice that one of my options is NOT to take the advice of an anonymous poster on an internet forum.
You, sir, are anonymous and therefore we have no idea about your credentials (other than attempting to boil reality down into a liberal/conservative distinction).
It would exceedingly wise, then, to completely ignore your opining, and get an opinion from someone who is not an anonymous poster on an internet forum.
Just a thought.
