SALT LAKE CITY Utah police say the husband of a 28-year-old woman who disappeared more than a week ago is hindering the investigation.
West Valley City Police Capt. Tom McLachlan says Josh Powell didn't show up for an interview Monday on the advice of his attorney. McLachlan says that's costing authorities valuable time in the effort to find Powell's wife, Susan.

Sounds as if the Police have pretty well made up their minds about the husband. Now we’ll probably never find out what happened.
The cops already know that the woman is probably dead and that her husband killed her. This is just another way of trying to pressure him into a confession. Hope they find her soon and then bag him.
Scott Peterson ping!

It's better to exercise one's Constitutional rights (especially those in the Bill of Rights) and never talk to the police... let me repeat... "never" talk to the police... :-)
Just so everyone knows... ya don't need an attorney to refuse to talk to the police. But, if the police are pressing you, then you might want to get one. Otherwise, never talk to the police under any circumstances...
And with the police always looking for a charge to put on someone (Hey! It's their job... LOL...), the best advice that you or I or anyone can get is to never ever talk to the police under any circumstances, anywhere at anytime...
Talking to the Police by Professor James Duane
Professor James Duanes now famous 5th Amendment lecture - popularly known as Dont talk to the police! - has amassed a considerable internet following. The lecture, given as part of Regent Law Schools spring preview weekend.
I knew the husband did it when the story broke. Ok so he has innocent until proven guilty...fine...he is getting close to guilty.

Ain't that just like "liberals" to accuse a conservative, when exercising their Constitutional rights -- to "impeding" what liberals want to do... LOL...
There’s not much on the internet. I missed a TV discussion on the wet carpet in the house - which I believe has been taken for forensic testing.
Other threads mentioned how Scott Peterson and that heinous Mark (??) were left alone and tracked with GPS or by undercover cops before being arrested.
We can only wait & see. IMHO Powell has that same hang dog phony facial expression.
It was like 7 degrees that morning. Seems funny that he would suddenly decide to take his two young children out for the day “camping”.
I’m not one to jump to conclusions. I don’t like the usual lazy police method of genning up a case against the husband so that they can get back to their donuts. But his story sounds too fishy.
Mark Hacking - so y’all don’t go crazy!
I watched that vid a couple weeks ago and was awesome info! Should be required viewing for every citizen.
Sure does. If he didn't kill her, he gains nothing by subjecting himself to interrogation and they will use anything he might say to pin the blame on him. The husbands are predominantly the killers when a wife goes missing, but it's not every time.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) The father of a 28-year-old woman who went missing more than a week ago says he doesn't think his son-in-law would do anything to hurt his daughter, and understands why he felt the need to hire an attorney.
Yeah, only an idiot who thinks the police are really concerned about the facts... will decided to not hire an attorney in a situation like this.
If someone turns up missing in your family, get an attorney and shut up -- because the police believe it's you -- right off the bat... LOL...
He seems a sguilty as sin.
It’s sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy:
10 As the husband, he’s automatically the #1 suspect.
20 As the #1 suspect, he’s smart enough to lawyer-up.
30 As soon as he lawyer-ups, well...
40 GOTO 10
Amen about that... and it’s situations like this one (and others that come up in the news) that provide the reason and rationale for people being aware of that and paying attention to it... :-)
Geesh....his WIFE is MISSING!!! IF he was INNOCENT he would LOVE to talk to the police!!
Thanks for re-posting that video.
All of my ex-military buddies who became cops have seen it and agree.
Everybody should see this video.
