What a fool. It is NOT a Castro hat. In fact US Army recruits are issued the exact same hat(or they used to be)but are not allowed to wear it because it doesn't look good enough(that was the way it was back in the day).Palin's hat is not even a military hat and if it is(which is isn't)I would say it is in tribute to the son she has in the service.

The color of it is the same color army fatigues used to be(and maybe still are in the states). This is just so lame.

The bill is not so different, the real difference is in the crown. Compare the crown of Sara’s hat with that of Castro’s. I should have used the term “resembles” instead of “looks like”.
Her hat is a stylized version of a military fatigue cap. The same style is worn today by our military.

Be more honest by not putting in a black and white photo of Castro. The black and white image hides that the color is exactly the same (which is a dead giveaway that it is a Castro hat).

Sorry oh fashion guru, extraordinaire, but this was a pic dating in the 60's and color pics were not the norm as they are now.

Moreover, if you can not see the difference, then I suggest you make an apt with the closest Optometrist, toute suite, and get your eyes checked.

I am not going to waste my time finding pics of me in Fatigues during the 60's which show the caps we wore identical to Fidel's and moreover, I could care less if Sarah was wearing a Babushka, she would still look good in it.

The bills on the hats are different cuts. Sarah's is curved and ends over her ears while castro's ends at his temples. It's a shame castro ripped off the cute three buttons. This negates any discussion about the hats worn.

It is merely the style and has been for quite a while. I am 49+ and have a hat collection and have 3 like this... That being said, I wouldn’t have chosen this color in this hat, because it looks to Army for me.

BUT, I think that was her point. It’s her way of giving a wink to the military folk by wearing this color.... She’s smart like a fox and is here to stay.
