Even if it only holds power for 30 seconds, it will save your equipment from the “blips”.

Amen to that!
I bought one about 4 years ago because the 'electricity' in my town isn't always stable. Many times, it has clicked on and off, almost immediately. A few times, it has clicked on long enough to shut down my system.
It doesn't save any open files, but it does 'safely' save the hardware and OS operating files.
A unit costs $30-$40 at Walmart and electronics stores.
