Why Does Every Thread (apparently) Start with an ant-Romney Ad? (a vanity post, but sincere)
clique | clique

Posted on 12/01/2009 8:38:13 AM PST by Clique

Let me be clear: I don't like Romney. I wouldn't vote for Romney. I hope he never runs for President, and if he tries, I hope he never gets the nomination. In other words -- I don't like Romney!

However, -- I am tired of having to scroll past an anti-Romney ad as the #1 entry on every article lately.

Why does every post start with an anti-Romney ad? As far as I know, he isn't even running for anything right now.

In fact, why should every article begin with an anti-Anyone ad?

I've always considered most Freepers to be very objective and fair-minded.

Has FreeRepublic turned into a one-trick pony? (DestroyRomneyDestroyRomneyDestroyRomney...etc.)

It has become quite tiresome. Could someone please tell me why FreeRepublic is doing this?

Jim Robinson, are you aware that this is happening?

Thank you.

THAT would be a REAL problem. ;-)

Romney said it a over and over “As governor, I will not change Massachusetts abortion laws”. He said it, He did that which is what the people of Massachusetts wanted.

He would have never been elected govenor had he done otherwise.

In other words, he compromised his stand on abortion because getting elected govenor was more important to him than his stand on abortion.

This is what conservatives (especially the Tea Party people) are soo tired of. Candidates that will say/do whatever it takes to get elected instead of standing on principle. If you were to create a definition of RINO that would be it.

....and exactly what have I said infers that I’m a Romney apologist?

I remember your screen name from the 2008 primaries. You've said plenty. Then, you (thankfully) stopped trying to push your MA liberal on the rest of us. Now, you're back again, complaining about the truth being told about his record. In true Romney-supporter fashion, you focus like a laser beam on where I said your salary came from and ignore the factual answer. I'll clear it up for you: YOU MAKE TOO MUCH DAMN MONEY TO GET IT FOR 'FREE'!! Got it? Good. That's why it's 'socialized'. Because you're paying, not only for yours, and are FORCED TO DO SO BY GOVERNMENT MANDATE (Mitt LOVES those...), but for everyone who can't afford it. And the result of that has been skyrocketing prices and rationed care. Thanks for playing.

Makes me want the Freepathon to come quickly.

And if these juvenile ads are to come back after the FReepathon, I hope it lasts a VERY long time.

"Which has nothing to do with the ads. " But which has everything to do with not simultaneously attacking The Huckster.

There have been plenty of comments and posts against the Huckster - especially in light of the Maurice Clemmons incident in Washington state. But since the Huckster has indicated that he probably will not run in 2012, and there is no indication that the RNC powers-that-be are trying to annoint him as the next candidate, there is no reason to take an aggressive counter-campaign against him at this time. The lack of an aggressive campaign against the Huckster has NOTHING to do with the respective religious/denominational affiliations of the candidates.

Yes indeed. His successes with Bain and Bain Capital as well as his miracle resurection with the Salt Lake City games proves him to be a successful executive, and that is something that is sorely needed in government. We need people who understand how to make things work effectively and who understand about wealth creation. The current bunch (Congress included) know only about looting and punishing success.

That's why I started with the word, 'maybe'. As in doubt. So, let me pile on. You can't take criticism, as in hurt feelings.

Maybe FR is too rough and tumble. I suppose there is a Stuart Smiley conservative site were people talk about rainbows and unicorns. This isn't it. Leftist, liberal, RINOs kill, murder, exhaust, tax, fine, steal from millions of people, each and every day. So, if it is just one at time that can be defeated, stomped, crushed, left naked and confused in a wolf howling wilderness....I'm all for it.

Bottom line...

Romney blows.

He’s a billionaire who thinks he’s above the peasants and wants to ‘take care’ of them.

All the frivolous ethics lawsuits in the world wouldn’t bother him. He’s got the money.

The $300,000 in frivolous ethics lawsuits filed against Palin was enough to make her “quit” the governorship.

Give me somebody to whom $300,000 is a lot of money any day of the week.

She represents me. Somebody like Romney or Obama who act like it’s Monopoly money don’t.

Maybe those anti-Romney are simple minded types with nothing in there head so they do this to feel like they know something.

"Their" heads, Einstein.

You will note there is no poster listed under the ad.

That means it is auto generated by Free Republic's management.

You know, those "simple minded types" who do this to "feel like they know something".

I disagree. Apparently, you weren’t paying much attention during the 2008 primary season.

I think you might get a bit more traction out of arguing with Sarah Palin supporters if you were using something more than warmed-over media cliches to support your own side.

How many times can someone pull the whole “I like Sarah Palin, but I really don’t feel she’s qualified, because blah blah blah...” thing?

Nobody is interested in hearing that. I support Sarah Palin, but that support is far from unconditional. I really don’t think there are many who support here unconditionally here at FR. There are, however, many who tire quickly of folks like yourself who are trying to use half-baked mediagasms as ammunition against her.

If someone is going to make Sarah Palin into something conservatives don’t want to support, it’s going to be Sarah Palin and not you. If you’re so convinced of her incompetence, you shouldn’t be worried about this in the least bit. I mean, look at what Mitt Romney has done to himself. Even after he left office, he made a complete ass of himself at just about every debate. Surely, if Palin is such a dullard, she’ll be even worse, right?
