Let me be clear: I don't like Romney. I wouldn't vote for Romney. I hope he never runs for President, and if he tries, I hope he never gets the nomination. In other words -- I don't like Romney!
However, -- I am tired of having to scroll past an anti-Romney ad as the #1 entry on every article lately.
Why does every post start with an anti-Romney ad? As far as I know, he isn't even running for anything right now.
In fact, why should every article begin with an anti-Anyone ad?
I've always considered most Freepers to be very objective and fair-minded.
Has FreeRepublic turned into a one-trick pony? (DestroyRomneyDestroyRomneyDestroyRomney...etc.)
It has become quite tiresome. Could someone please tell me why FreeRepublic is doing this?
Jim Robinson, are you aware that this is happening?
Thank you.
For that reason, although I find the presence of anti-Romney "ads" on every thread fairly annoying, I'm willing to put up with them for a while longer. That said, I think Jim ought to scale them back soon, or perhaps mix in some other messages -say, about how we can help defeat the pending Health Care disaster or Cap-and-Tax or whatever.
I’m 100% with you. Maybe those anti-Romney are simple minded types with nothing in there head so they do this to feel like they know something. While America goes in the toilet this crap is getting tired.
Let’s see - I would take Mitt over McCain, Graham-nesty, and Newt. They are getting tiring.
Don't care bout no t-shirts, sides, Jim said he weren't gonna do no ads.
Which has nothing to do with the ads.
....and exactly what have I said infers that I’m a Romney apologist?
Hint: nothing...but when making it up as you go, run with it.
....and exactly what have I said that infers that I’m a Romney campaign worker? Let alone a paid campaign worker?
Hint: nothing...but when making it up as you go...run with it.
Despite your incorrect labels and claims of where my salary allegedly comes from....I’m still paying for my own insurance in an allegedly socialized system.
Lemme guess the next tactic: You’re gonna tell me who I’ve voted for the last 20 years, right?
Not if they’ve been on this forum for more than a week.
The characterization of Romney as a baby killer does bother me because he is not.
Romney said it a over and over "As governor, I will not change Massachusetts abortion laws". He said it, He did that which is what the people of Massachusetts wanted.
The people of MA are the "baby killers". Plus Romney has said nothing about "as president" what he would do.
Furthermore, there is every indication that he personally is as anti abortion as one can get in his personal life.
Doing this character assasination on Romney is the stupid spin that we are used to getting from NBC, ABC, CBS, etc. It diminishes this website greatly.
“I’m waiting to see what happens when Sarah decides to endorse McCain.”
Me too.
I like Jim Robinson and I've been on here a while, but I cannot see that posting positive remarks should constitute grounds for being banned unless they were provably untrue. It would then be the possibility of intentionally misleading people that would constitute valid grounds. Just making a (true) positive statement grounds for being banned is, well, totalitarian.
Call me naive, but I always thought conservatives prized individual rights, including the right to free political speech.
And I'm pretty tired of seeing the ad myself. Time to load the Hucklebee version, okay?
“Mittbots will not be deterred...almost as if they are on a mission”
MITTBOTS are on a mission, good grief, look at the posts of those who oppose him.
Romney is no slimeball. If you look at his private and/or public (and anywhere else) life, all you see is the utmost in integity, honesty, hard work, and excellence.
Just because you may disagree with him on the issues or don't like the fact that he is intelligent, rich, well spoken and looks gread, does not make him a slimeball.
You also brand yourself as a nitwit for saying so.
So now you've gone from calling it "socialized"....an indefensible position because, by definition, it is not socialized.....to calling it unConstitutional......one I can agreee with ON THE FEDERAL LEVEL, but not at the State level.
At the State level....it's called the 10th Amendment.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits the States from mandating resident-purchased health care or even a State socializing health care......so it's a State's right issue to do so or not.
Or do States only have the rights you agree they should?
This complaining is delightful. I’ve had some tussles with Romneybots. The funny thing is that they’ll never admit that they support Mitt. When you press the point they say they haven’t decided who they’d support. Rubbish. If you don’t want Romney for a candidate why would these ads ruffle your feathers? They don’t bother me.
Keep the ads, Jim. I don’t mind one bit. But they seem to REALLY irritate the R’bots.
But which has everything to do with not simultaneously attacking The Huckster.
Romney is a Mormon.
Which has nothing to do with the ads.
But...Romney’s supporters use the anti-Mormon charge the same way Obama’s supporters use the racist charge. Have a legit beef with Obama about an issue and you are called a racists. The purpose (of course) is to divert the focus away from the issue itself while also putting his critics on the defensive.
It’s an old trick. Expect to see more of it as Romeny starts to make a serious run at the WH.

I think this comment applies more to the people worshipping in the Church of Saint Sarah, than Romney.
