Alec Baldwin considers entire film career a 'complete failure'

Alec Baldwin, the US actor, has said he has lost interest in acting and considers his film career a failure.

"I consider my entire movie career a complete failure," he told the magazine. "The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that."

Baldwin has expressed interest in politics in the past but did not say in the interview what he intended to do if he quit acting.

It’s a scary world when Flagg agrees with Baldwin on something.

Maybe he can get on Air America as a talk show host.

I’m sure they’ll let him on the air, particularly if he makes a donation to their cause.

I thought he was great in “Cat In The Hat”.

That is one of my favorites. I also liked him in The Departed.

I’d forgotten about Beetlejuice. That was a good movie.

I, for once, disagree with Alec. He’s a moronic twit personally, but I really enjoy his movies.
......

Whoa, wait, that didn’t come out right. I meant that I disagree with him for totally different reasons. Dang, time for bed.

I don’t think he was acting in the Cat in the hat movie. LOL

He couldn’t even get a decent name. Good names like Alec Berg were apparently already taken....

For once, I agree with him. “Third place ..... you're fired”

Odd, though, that he should be so depressed so soon after the Democrats won control of the White House, Senate, and House.

I saw him on Turner Classic Movies the other night. Baldwin is really putting on the weight like he's preparing for a role in either a sumo wrestling flick or a documentary on steroid abuse. His clothes look about two sizes too small and his face looks like he's getting fat injections to the point that his eyes look really squinty. Somehow, I don't think it was the make up. Really big carbohydrate footprint.

What's the difference?

He was amazing as the best friend/man in John Hughes’ ‘She’s having a baby’. He took the art of jerk to a whole new level. A superb performance.

“His 10 minute monologue in Glengarry Glen Ross has been the lone light in my dislike for him”

- I loved that scene. Only scene that tops it is Lee Armey’s 10 min Marine Drill Sergeant scene in Full Metal Jacket.

“Is this Johhhn Wayyyne? Or is it me?”

He’s VERY funny in 30 Rock, playing a conservative. I think he’s quite talented. I didn’t want to like him, I really didn’t, but he’s good.

He’s just bummed because he will always be a support actor.. never the draw...

By the way I boycott everything he is in at the theater, and his show currently being produced on tv. There are to many other things to enjoy with out paying him with HONEST earned cash..

Along with a select group of other lib scum on my personal avoidance list.

That’s up there too. Just like Glengarry, most of the dialogue drops the F bomb every second so we cant quote them LOL
