On 29.XI.39 the following entry was made in the war diary of Admiral Doenitz: Following the report that U.47 had torpedoed a cruiser, Propaganda claimed a sinking. From the service-mans point of view such inaccuracies and exaggerations are undesirable.

the hunt for the pocket battleships in the pre-radar era. within a short while radar makes the whole concept of surface raider obsolete, and really destroys the submarine srtategy as well/

Nazis Killed Thaelmann, London Paper Declares This story is pretty interesting. In the text of it we have that he was executed, died in prison, and released.
None of these are true. Ernst Thaelmann who was a former Social Democrat who became the leader of the Communist Party in Germany was arrested in 1933 and stayed incarcerated for eleven years before he was finally executed in Buchenwald concentration camp on August 18th 1944.
As of right now he is still alive and well in prison awaiting his trial that will never come.
