Duh!!
I have thought the same thing if I had a kid or nephew who was thinking of joining the Obama military.
That call is up to the nephew.
Total dumbass. I enlisted during the worthless Carter administration and completely enjoyed serving under Ronaldus Magnus. I'll never forget.
Obama and his peeps (think Ayers, Dohrn, etc.) would love nothing more than if the members of our fantastic military got out
(so they could replace them w folks more to their liking.)
My hope is that those fine folks in uniform who are careerists, or who are considering staying in, do so.
We need them, and the political climate will change before their next hitch is up (one would hope.)
This from a Navy and Marine Dad.
.
Beck can be an idiot sometimes.
Our troops serve America;
WE are America...not just that current partying WH occupier.
But I understand. I have an enthusiastic grandson in JROTC.
Beck is wrong to be contributing to the already low military enthusiasm among our young men, already we are forced to take their girlfriends and 42 year old grandmothers to replace the males that refuse to serve their nation.
I was lucky to serve under Nixon and Reagan and while I admit that Reagan may have been the reason I signed up for the second time (after being out for ten years), Nixon had nothing to do with me enlisting the first time.
I don’t really put much stock into who the commander in chief is when you serve, to me that is too trivial for the average soldier to care about when compared to the real reasons one enlists or wants to continue or discontinue his service.
I don’t trust idiot Barry and my son is in for 3 more years......I pray for my son daily.
He should re-enlist and participate in the coup....
Would you trust the current administration with your own life? With the One out partying, shooting hoops, playing golf, and waxing his pecs while procrastinating on what policy decision to make, delaying sending more troops until after an election for political reasons? What about the guys who get to die while he can't make up his mind and isn't talking to the generals in the field???
We really need good folks in the military right now. Besides, you’re still on the hook for a total of six years anyway.
A good friend of my stepson was enlisted right before the elections, and after the elections, in not so many words, I told him that worried for him under the (non)leadership of Obama, and he looked me straight in the eye and said with a smile, “Don’t worry, I’m gonna be a marine.” Very proud of that young man today.
I support Beck in this.
Beck is an idiot. I guess he wants to leave the impression that people who don’t get out of the military must be Obama supporters. As if they don’t serve because they might love their country or want to fight the war on terror.
I hope he’s drinking again—I’d hate to think he’s this loopy SOBER.
Good scoop! He’s covering it right now! ;-)
My soon to be 18 year old nephew has wanted to be a Marine for so long now. He told my sister he won’t enlist because of barry.
I felt a little sad because he would make such a great Marine. He said he would wait until barry’s out of office. He now wants to be a police officer.
Makes me hate barry even more, for taking away a young boy’s dream. What a POS he is.
As those who know me are well aware I'm an active participant in an ongoing thread called the Freeper Canteen. This daily thread is an opportunity to salute and pay tribute to those who giving their lives on the battlefields so people like myself can live in peace and be able to enjoy the very lives we live today.
I do have family and friends in the military who are active. A lot of those people joined the military during the Bush Presidency.
Regarding the question of giving advice about joining the military, I have to say that I'm deeply troubled by some of the recent events that involved those who are trying to defend this nation from these terrorists. Of course we all know about the situation involving the Navy SEALs. But, there was also a situation that involved a military lieutenant from Edmond named Michael Behenna who defended himself against a known Al Queda operative and as a result is now spending time in prison.
Here is a link to this brave soldier's website.
The question I ask myself is what good is joining the military if we're going to insist on throwing soldiers in prison for simply doing the job we're asking them to do which is to defend these this nation from these very terrorist elements. I can tell you right now there's no way in the world I would join the military given the current circumstances with regards to those two articles.
A nation that is run by military bureaucrats who insist on prosecuting and imprisoning soldiers for simply doing the very jobs we asked them to, to defend this nation against these terrorist elements, that is not a nation worth fighting for.
I give my thanks to all the brave men and women at home and abroad for all that you have done and continue to do for our country. I want you to know that even though some in Washington may not be on your side. We are. To all our military at home and abroad, thanks for your service to our country.
Maybe when the military bureaucracy loses it's infatuation with political correctness, it might be more desirable for military service.
Regards........
