There’s a smaller version of the Great Wall?
What’s it called?

I had a chance to visit it in 87. We got up there first thing in the morning & had the wall to ourselves for two hours.

Problem. Nice wall, it didn’t work. It could have.

And here we can’t focus our will to even build a double fence to protect our Southern border.

The Chinese proved that a wall is only as good as the men behind it.They built the wall, but couldn’t use it properly.

Beautiful as it is, The Great Wall of China was a functional boondoggle.

And the silly Mongols couldn’t climb over this? Seems like a few grappling hooks, maybe a ramp on wheels, and you are in like Flynn. Jeesh!

If they could climb those hills then they could climb the wall. But the wall has many watchtowers to spot invading troops and it would be a lot easier for defending troops to run along the wall than for invading troops to run up the hills.

Great picture. Even more impressive would be a Great Wall of America, from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico.

We need one here to separate liberals from conservatives (sarcasm). Liberal states are defined by sanctuary cities, ACORN and SEIU infiltration (corrupt elections), attempts to change marriage law, abortion advocacy, along with excessive crime and high unemployment. Conservatives want no part of any of these things.

Ditto Obama's Stimulus boondoggle. What it was stated to be (crisis aversion) was in no way, shape or form what it turned out to be (a stash for democrats and putting our nation's children and grandchildren in bondage to pay for the now obviously overtly corrupt mismanagement of trillions of taxpayer dollars).

If Obama had a chance to regain some support for this debaucle, he'd return unspent Stimulus dollars towards the national debt. He can't even call terrorism what it truly is, let alone display a smidgeon of regret and apology to Americans (he can only do that to foreigners he wants to impress). Instead he (and Pelosi) want even more taxpayer money (which will also end up unaccountable) and this will only be the beginning of much worse to come. He is fast becoming one of the most despised (along with Pelosi) people in this land.

Yes, Obama and Pelosi will soon be booed in public every where they go, except for their fascist propaganda controlled venues.

That is beautiful, and it will suffice for me, because lovely as it is, I have NO desire to go to China to see it in person.

Actually, the Mongols entered China with the help of a treasonous general who unlocked a set of entry gates. The Mongols were primarily horsemen and nomads who didn’t have the engineering ability of the Romans.

There are several stages of the Wall. The earliest stage was mostly masonry while later portions were tamped down straw and earth between masonry walls. It’s these later parts which eroded faster in the freeze/thaw cycles of winter and hot winds of summer.
