Conservative Smears on NCIS (Vanity)
11/11/09 | MortMan

Posted on 11/11/2009 3:12:12 PM PST by MortMan

I found myself writing a gripe-out email today to CBS for the garbage smears they have inserted in their top-rated show NCIS. Last night, they smeared Sarah Palin, implying she is a trigger-happy and irresponsible shooter. Last week, they misquoted Rush Limbaugh, stating that he believes that (legal) immigration is a grave threat to the country.

Gone is the crisp inter-character play from previous seasons. In its place some flaming liberal writer has taken it upon themselves the alienate fully half the audience for the show.

Am I the only person to have noticed, or does this really appear to be just another prong in the libtard attack repertoire? (How's that for a mixed metaphor?)

I saw that. Completely out of place and out of character for that line to be delivered.

Funny how the characters never have any lines written about a CIC who spends 3 months trying to decide what a strategy should be in Afghanistan or who is uncomfortable with the concept or winning a war against Terrorists?

I thought the Sarah Palin quote was a positive ! Sure as hell wouldn’t be any other Republican .Then again I am a gun owner and can identify with that . Matter of fact my wife and I both laughed at the quote at the same time .

Donald Bellisario left as head writer in 2007, so whomever took over may be listing to port.

I caught that swipe at Sarah Palin. If they are going to use NCIS for their platform, then bye-bye NCIS.

I am with you. Did anyone watch Castle this week? I figured whoever was responsible for the crime would be tied in with the “conservative” political family. Good episode though. I would rather politicians in TV shows just be senator, congresman, etc.

I see. Characterizing Palin as a loon who shoots unannounced through wooden doors at unidentified people is a “throwaway line”.

Whatever.

You are right on one score - that the show is predicated to be non-PC. I don’t see any reason to accept (and thereby tacitly endorse) such stupid verbal smears as being inconsequential - especially when a pattern starts appearing.

NCIS has a huge audience.

Its impossible for a liberal to walk past an open mike and not stop to preach.

I will have to watch it on Hulu and catch up, I missed it last night.

I no longer even bother with Law and Order and I have found the new NCIS Las Angeles sucks to the high heavens.

I saw both of those episodes and didn’t feel that they were insulting Rush or Sarah...which means that either you are being a little thin skinned, or, I have become thick skinned having to deal with the libtards around Portland...or neither...or both. Regardless, it is one of the few things I watch on TV.

My problem with that particular quote (and the scene) was it served no purpose in the plot, except to paint Sarah Palin as looney (in my opinion).

The woman behind the door was a throw-away character who is never mentioned again.

Shooting through the door violates every trigger discipline rule in the book (and a hunter like Palin would understand those).

Her immediate surrender at the words “federal agent” after shooting through the door at them was a bit incredible.

I, too, am a gun owner. I didn’t see the comment as positive.

I appreciate your sharing your perspective, though. (After all, that’s the purpose of this thread for me - having a “sanity check”)

No - this show has Mark Harmon as the lad agent in a four-man team (based in Washington DC).

Its impossible for a liberal to walk past an open mike and not stop to preach.

That bears repeating.

I didn’t take it as a slam either.

A woman welding a gun is compared to Sarah Palin. What’s wrong with that? Women with guns used to be compared to Annie Oakley....that’s pretty good company, IMO.

It’s one of my few shows, too.

I guess I’ll have to see what happens in the next couple of weeks - to see if I’m just being thin skinned.

Is NCIS the show with Mandy Patinkin in it?

That was Criminal Minds and he "left" the show in '07.

I too enjoyed his works.

NCIS-LA is a mediocre (at best) regular cop show.

They really miss out when they separate out the forensics and autopsy pieces, IMO.

Yes, but remember that the left says that Palin is of no consequence. But, as she says, she lives rent free in their brains!

Consider it as their childish retort (and be glad it's not a drinking game).
