I thought I'd be domestic for a bit and explore state parks in Montana. Obviously it's a state famous for mountains and glaciers and geysers (well, most of those are in Wyoming, but still), so I wondered what would be at the "state park" level. Found some next stuff. Each picture comes with a link to the page on the Montana state parks Web site.

3. Lewis and Clark Caverns (Montana's first state park)
A very good image of the caverns (I can't share this link)
This last photo is from Montana Photo, and I have to finish with one shot from Glacier NP:
Avalanche Creek

Thanks for posting!
Beautiful. I have been to Lewis and Clark Caverns - you have to crawl through part of them on the regular tour. Really unspoiled.
Aaah, Montana. I must return someday to hike Glacier NP again and see the State Parks as well.
there’s something odd about that last photo. the water doesn’t look right. an exposure longer than 1/30 second should produce an even blur, but there are lots of light and dark streaks in the white area that should be spray. there are also lines visible in areas that should be blurred smooth due to motion. it suggests that the photographer used multiple long exposures - maybe 1/2 second each, and moved a reflector around to illuminate parts of the rocks along the waterway. that way, each element of motion would only blur a little bit, but when they’re combined, the blur has definite lines in it.
if so, it is an interesting technique and it created a striking image.
Great stuff. I’ve spent the last five summer vacations hiking Glacier. Have barely scratched the surface. Incredible place.
Thanks for posting this picture! We’ll be heading to Montana next summer to see this!
Whoa!
That pic will tick off the creationists on this site.
This might even show that Earth was active many, many, many moons ago!
Keep your eye on the calendar and the clock; time vanishes fast.

We’d love to see Glacier NP, sometime.
