The new "V" airs tonite. For us Generation Xers the original V was one of those cultural markers. Of course the whole talk about the aliens using Obama "Hope and Change" language makes it even more appealing.
I still wonder how much ABC was ‘encouraged’ to change the Alien’s approach from the previews. Of course, if they were ‘encouraged’ to change it from the hopey changey Aliens, the irony would be never ending from the story.
Sounds interesting. I remember rushing home from church to watch V. We’ll see if they can’t keep from making it totally pr0bama.
Of course, I don’t have a television, so I’ll be watching if it’s available online.
I watched the re-run of the original series for 12 hours this past weekend. The similarities between the current coup and the 1980s alien take over were unbelievable. I wonder what is underneath Obama’s ear flaps?

I havent heard beans about this coming on. Then again I dont have cable, but still havent seen any web ads.
Hopfully it’s in the spirit of many of the great “reboots” that have been coming out, and not some PC PO (Pro-Obama) BS.
Remember the “vaccine” that the visitors were going to give to the citizens for their help? Also the martial law scenes were bone chilling to watch. I have been telling all of my friends for months now that where you are when TSHTF is where you are going to be stuck! Forget loading the truck with survival gear and trotting off to the woods.
On Sunday, Sy Fy ran an entire marathon of the original “V” and “V: The Final Battle” miniseries from the 1980s. I watched it all. It was really good television and completely made the point about the dangers of closet fascism in America.
Time and channel it airs at??
I wonder how the new V will stack up against the old. Probably all Obummer propaganda.
8 pm (or when primetime starts in your time zone) on ABC.

Of course, I wish that The Sarah Connor Chronicles was back, but I'll take a "V" remake - hope they do it right.

I caught the clip about the Alien telling the interviewer to avoid asking questions that might paint them in a bad light.
I missed the re-run, but I had a coworker tell me the exact same thing. The last time I saw it was when it first aired in the 80s, so I don't remember all of the details that well. Interesting...
I gotta say that all of the "hopenchange" from the first teasers for the new "V" shocked the hell out of me. I could never imagine something so blatantly paralleling Obama with a fascist regime getting air time on a major network. I hope that ABC proves me wrong.
