Good evening, Polly.
I cannot imagine Thanksgiving for 49.
I got tired just reading about it. :)
Years ago we had large (100) for July 4th; my Mom's birthday.
It was an outside BBQ and everyone brought a dish.
I'm so happy to hear that Shelby is adjusting to the group home.
I've spent much of today away from the computer.
I even managed a short nap.
Have a great evening and a blessed Sunday.

The California schools are already working on brainwashing our children.
I try to undo all that they do.
I said something earlier this week about some people being so dumb. Marissa said, “They are probably Democrats, Gramma.”
*smile* I had to agree with her.

The Galatia Church
Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Galatians 3:3
I was driving through the countryside when I spotted a church building whose name surprised me. It said, The Galatia Church. The name caught my attention because I was certain no one would choose to name a church this unless it was a geographic necessity.
A study of the biblical book of Galatians reveals that it is Pauls most fiery lettercriticizing the people for legalism, self-effort, and the exchange of grace for a different gospel. Galatia was not exactly the kind of church that you would see as an example to be followed.
This is true because the Galatians were trying to please God through their own efforts rather than by reliance on Him. Pauls charge against them was this: Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? (3:3).
Just as we cannot earn a relationship with God by our works, neither can we develop spiritually through our own strength. Pauls reminder to the Galatians (and us) is this: Dependence on God through the work of the Spirit in our lives is at the core of our walk with Christ.
If we think we can become like Jesus by our own efforts, we are, like the Galatians, fooling ourselves.
Cast your futile efforts down,
Down at Jesus feet;
Stand in Him, in Him alone,
Gloriously complete. Proctor

Good Morning, Jaycee.
Happy Sunday.
Morning Prayer
You are ushering in another day
Untouched and freshly new,
So here I come to ask You God
If You'll renew me too?
Forgive the many errors,
That I made yesterday,
And let me try again dear God,
To walk closer in Thy way.
But Father, I am well aware
I can't make it on my own.
So take my hand and hold it tight
For I can't walk alone.

Daddy's Bible
Daddy has left us, his life's work done.
Only one thing leaving, to me, his son.
It is his old Bible, all tattered and torn.
Each page is wrinkled, soiled or worn.
Its condition, atrocious, but not from abuse,
It happened through time, with frequent use.
From cover to cover, each page was read.
You can tell he loved it, by the life he led.
Many words are circled, verses underlined.
In the margins, other thoughts you will find.
Much time in reading, and study was spent,
Learning what was written, and just what it meant.
No greater treasure, could I possess,
Than that old Bible. I am so blessed.
Its condition has gone, from bad to worse,
As I've considered each note and underlined verse.
It now holds a place among precious things,
Not for its beauty, but for the memories it brings.
Every Daddy should follow his example and leave,
A worn out Bible, to which his son can cleave.
No greater blessing, could a man bestow,
Than a knowledge of a Savior, who loves us so.
Now that I know him, and his promises, won.
What more can I say, but, "Thanks Dad"
-With love, Your Son.

Just beautiful, Amy! Thank you. I loved the Morning Prayer. I made it to church today and was glad I did. The tree is up at church and as we left the church, each of us hung one of the ornaments on the tree. The tree is beautiful and big and the ornaments are large also. All the ornaments are white. Enjoyed that tradition this morning.

Angel Artists
The sky is filled with colors
Of every shade and hue
Pink and gold and purple
On a background of soft blue.
Did you ever wonder how,
All these colors came to be?
Who paints these lovely pictures
For you and me to see?
I believe that there are Angels
That are sent to paint the sky
With tiny doves to guide them
As they paint for you and I!
