Mainstream Media Ignores Juicy ACORN Nuggets by Hannah Giles

The “Pimp and Pro” story, exposing ACORN’s willingness to advise a prostitute on tax evasion and child sex trafficking, hit America a few weeks ago. There were a myriad number of angles to report, yet the Mainstream Media's favorite approach seems to be the method in which James O’Keefe and I orchestrated and gathered the information.

It’s like going fishing, but instead of taking a picture and raving about the 750lb Mako shark you caught, you blather on about the bait that was used. What happens when people get bored? They stop paying attention. What happens when people stop paying attention to an already suffering press industry? We’re seeing that happen now.

Rather than simply complaining about the MSM’s negligence on the story, here are some loose ends the media ignored, from our footage alone, that warrant attention.

With regard to the children:

• Baltimore- Why no mention of the toddlers that were in the room while James and I were being counseled on how to manage our underage prostitution ring?

• San Bernardino- The content of this video was largely ignored except for the part where ACORN worker Tresa Kaelke mentions she shot her husband. What about when she told us not to educate our sex-slaves because they won’t want to work for us? Or when we talked about making money off of clients who would physically abuse the girls? What about the whole transport-the-girls-in-a-school-bus-to-avoid-suspicion discussion?

Attention to the masses: • Washington, DC- Why were we counseled by ACORN during a first time homebuyer’s seminar, while 30-40 other first time homebuyers sat crammed in a hot room?

• Brooklyn- This office was swarmed with people, busy staff members and a full waiting room. Did we take our number and wait in line? Nope. Why were we given the private attention of three ACORN staffers when clearly more deserving and less intrusive (and even possibly law-abiding!) clients patiently waited?

The political games: • San Bernardino: What happened to the list of politicians that Ms. Kaelke rattled off when she spoke of her ACORN office’s community involvement and influence? Has anyone set out to uncover just how close these politicians’ relationships are with the San Bernardino ACORN? Does anyone even remember the names?

• San Diego: Has anyone questioned why ACORN employee Juan Carlos would want to help smuggle girls across the Mexican border right after an ACORN-sponsored immigration parade???

• Philadelphia: Why did the Philly office go into damage control mode as soon as the Baltimore story first broke? What do they have to hide? I would hate to be known as the journalist who never saw the bigger picture, lacked the creativity and ambition to approach a story from a fresh perspective, and contributed to the apathy of an entire nation. And I honestly, from the bottom of my heart, think every wannabe and professional journalist has the same attitude.

So why aren’t they behaving accordingly? Fear? Comfort? A false sense of purpose?

I don’t know about the rest of the press corps but all of the above scenarios scream scandal to me. They'd be worthwhile news.

And another thumb in the eye to the "Proffessional" journalists of the MSM

This story isn't over -- not for a long while yet

Nobody expected Pravda under the Soviets to report anything in conflict with Official Government Propaganda.

Very good questions posed by Miss Giles...

I opt for the last explanation - the media workers see themselves (consciously or subconsciously) as soldiers in the long war to promote socialism. They instinctively close their eyes to anything that hurts the cause.

Ignore - no. Deliberately suppress, with full knowledge and recognition of the fact.

The ACORN story writes itself. Sex, money, bribes, underage girls, illegal sex trade, human trafficking, evading IRS regulations and bank fraud what else do you want? So why has NO enterprising journalist ala Woodward and Bernstien sought to make a name exposing ACORN? Simple...

The journalist that picks up on this story is going to quickly become a pariah. Exposing ACORN, the very base of the anointed one, is a rock better left unturned. This story would show that the people of the inner city are not being exploited by anyone but themselves. Millions of dollars are poured into ACORN and liberal candidates get elected, ACORN executives get rich and the people they claim to represent get nothing.

If the poor people that they claim to represent could somehow make a better life for themselves, they would not need ACORN in the first place. ACORN can only survive by perpetuating poverty and teaching victim hood.

You would think that all those journalists who are getting pink slips, being tossed out on their ears after years of working with ‘the system’ and ignoring the news; you would think that they would resent going bankrupt. You would think that they would be angry at being tossed aside, losing their retirement, pension, savings, homes, cars and livelihood. You would think they would be outraged, and would get some ‘payback’; and publish those stories they had been ordered to quash. Why not publish those stories on to Drudge, or Foxnews, or other on-line publishers.

You would think that those who watched friends, co-workers and managers pack up their belongings and crying on the way out the door to their awaiting fate, that those who are still employeed would jump onto any story that will sell a paper.

So, are journalists all lazy, stupid and barely able to manage more in life than flipping a burger? Based upon what I have seen so far; a journalist is someone who is too stupid, lazy and unmotivated to dig ditches. Even when someone points out the stories for them to investigate.

That is the modern equivalent of slavery. The Democrat party was the party of slavery during and after the Civil War and they have never given up that view. BTW, the KKK was founded by N B Forrest -- A Democrat.

From what I can glean in reading about all this, they do have severance, over 2 years of unemployment benefits and have kept their retirement accounts, et al. Some may be waiting to see if there is a bailout that would mean they are re-hired.

I would not be surprised to learn that books are in the works. If it was me, I would use the paid time off to do my research and line up a publisher or even, if it is explosive enough, set up a self-publishing scheme. Professionals should be able to do the actual writing in a few months. But, proof-reading, editing and galley corrections all take time.

There are conservative publishers and everyone knows how many books they can sell with scandal. I really wonder how long it is going to take to get some exposes out there.

I am certain some are so indoctrinated, they will never write anything critical. Some will use a fictional format. Some may only write after figuring out how to keep it all very anonymous. Some will just live on their wife’s income or look for a teaching gig. But there has to be someone who was fired who has information and will take it public.

OTOH, I know a retired journo who, rather than write anything critical of her beloved Democrats, has spent over a year trying to publish topical lifestyle/interview articles freelance for magazines. She was very confident because, as she stated:”I know how this business works.” She has had zero positive responses to her queries, let alone any sales. Many of the magazines she has queried are out of business. Others are only using staff-written material and/or recycling old articles. So, she may be typical.
