This story isn't over -- not for a long while yet
I opt for the last explanation - the media workers see themselves (consciously or subconsciously) as soldiers in the long war to promote socialism. They instinctively close their eyes to anything that hurts the cause.
Ignore - no. Deliberately suppress, with full knowledge and recognition of the fact.
The ACORN story writes itself. Sex, money, bribes, underage girls, illegal sex trade, human trafficking, evading IRS regulations and bank fraud what else do you want? So why has NO enterprising journalist ala Woodward and Bernstien sought to make a name exposing ACORN? Simple...
The journalist that picks up on this story is going to quickly become a pariah. Exposing ACORN, the very base of the anointed one, is a rock better left unturned. This story would show that the people of the inner city are not being exploited by anyone but themselves. Millions of dollars are poured into ACORN and liberal candidates get elected, ACORN executives get rich and the people they claim to represent get nothing.
If the poor people that they claim to represent could somehow make a better life for themselves, they would not need ACORN in the first place. ACORN can only survive by perpetuating poverty and teaching victim hood.
You would think that all those journalists who are getting pink slips, being tossed out on their ears after years of working with ‘the system’ and ignoring the news; you would think that they would resent going bankrupt. You would think that they would be angry at being tossed aside, losing their retirement, pension, savings, homes, cars and livelihood. You would think they would be outraged, and would get some ‘payback’; and publish those stories they had been ordered to quash. Why not publish those stories on to Drudge, or Foxnews, or other on-line publishers.
You would think that those who watched friends, co-workers and managers pack up their belongings and crying on the way out the door to their awaiting fate, that those who are still employeed would jump onto any story that will sell a paper.
So, are journalists all lazy, stupid and barely able to manage more in life than flipping a burger? Based upon what I have seen so far; a journalist is someone who is too stupid, lazy and unmotivated to dig ditches. Even when someone points out the stories for them to investigate.
