Hillary Clinton claimed that she spoke with Eleanor Roosevelt’s ghost in the White House. Then again, Hillary Clinton is a lying witch.

I believe the mind is capable of much more than most realize. Even though Dan Brown’s new book “The Lost Symbol” sucked, it touched on some of that capability which I believe is non-fiction...

When I was young and stupid my sis and I tried the ouija board. It told my sis that she was going to die horribly at 17 and said something nasty to me to which I replied FU. Then I burned the thing. Now that I’ve grown as a Christian I see I shouldn’t have messed with that thing at all, but find it amusing that it hated me even then.

Deuteronomy says have nothing to do with real necromancy, and such table tappings I’d never have any part in. (However, I am a long time Dungeons and Dragons player, because I believe my God is smart enough to know that “my M.U. casts sleep” is different from me laying out real candles in a Pentagram in the dead of night and trying to chat up Uncle Earl. And since that kind of thing doesn’t work, you’re talking with demons anyway, so why bother?)

OK, I have one.

God saved me from being run over by a taxi cab in Manhattan.

We were on a shuttle bus from the Javitz Center back to our hotel. The bus stopped on the opposite side of the street, and everyone on the bus started marching out, single-file, crossing in front of the bus, across the street, and into the door of the hotel.

My boss and I were the first ones on the bus, so we were at the very back. I was the last one to get off the bus, and like a duckling in a line, mindlessly followed the rest of the ducks, crossing in front of the bus.

Now, my momma told me a million times only to cross a street at an intersection, and to never, ever block the view of yourself by stepping out from behind a parked car.

But I was a mindless duckling.

Also, at the trade show at the Javitz, we were given these little backpack shoulder bags to haul all of our free goodies back with... y’all have been to these things... you know...

Well, I shouldered my backpack, mindlessly stepped off the bus, walked in front of it, and just as my foot cleared the side of the bus, someone tried to steal my backpack, and yanked it hard off my shoulder... hard enough to spin me around and pull me back..

As I spun, by left elbow flew out past the side of the bus, and was clipped by the passenger side mirror on a taxi going at least 45 down the narrow Manhattan streets.

The impact made a loud bang, people screamed, and I spun 1080 degrees (spun on my toes 3 complete times). I was not hurt, wasn’t even sure of what happened, except that someone was trying to steal my backpack. I whipped around to see if I could see who tried to take it, but ...

and this is the weird part, because it’s 5:15PM in the middle of 7th Avenue...

From curb to curb on that block, there was not a single person... no one. The sidewalks on either side of the streets were jammed with people waiting to cross onto my block.

But the sidewalk on my block was eerily, deliberately vacant. Not a soul. Not a *human* soul.

I was not injured, by the way, and the taxi driver squealed to a stop, got out, ran to his passenger side, adjusted the mirror, then hopped back into the car and sped away.

My direct intervention from God was where His Word warns us to stay as far away from Ouija boards, tarot cards, etc as possible. Ghosts only exist in as much as they are demons ~ and as such they don’t interest me at all. I basically ignore Halloween now and all it entails.

3 weird stories from my past:

1. When I was a kid, my brother and I found this hole in the forest near our house. We’d often put leaves in it, and in time they’d catch on fire. After years, this hole still seemed to have heat to cause this effect. Not sure what it was.

2. When I was really little, like 3 or 4, we had this old desk with an ink well hole in the top. I remember this hand wearing a glove came out and shook my hand. I then went and looked in the desk and nothing was in it.

While at a wedding a few years ago in an old North Carolina house I went "ghost hunting" for a few minutes; I went from room to room upstairs before most of the other guests, taking pictures of the windows and french doors, and being careful that I didn't see anyone on the other side as I took each picture. To my great shock, one of the photos seemed to show what looks a bit like a man wearing a tricorner hat and something pink sitting behind him; it wasn't there in the picture taken seconds earlier and as I said I was watching by eye to make sure I didn't catch anyone as I took each picture.

I'm not much of a ghost believer myself, but I have to say it was fun to find something I couldn't immediately explain.

On a hike in the Adirondacks at Roaring Brook Falls 10 years ago I took this photograph and even though nobody was there, later when I saw the developed photo I noticed a strange dark figure

Full sized unaltered pic here

The picture is at the bottom of Roaring Brook Falls which is a 325 foot waterfall though it is frozen solid at the time of the pic, and there have been numerous deaths of hikers and hunters in the area, many from getting too close to the edge on top and falling to their deaths.

I don't know what that thing is, looks like a guy with an axe or a hiking stick.

I knew a guy who was demon possessed and it manifested in a large church service of about 2,000 people here in the Twin Cities.

He stood up and yelled that he was Jesus Christ and about 10 guys tackled him and tried to cast the demon out and failed so they made him leave the church where he took all his clothes off and walked around naked until the police showed up and brought him to the psych ward.

He said the demon entered into him when he played with a ouija board when he was 8 years old.

This happened about 40 years ago. My parents had gone to a dinner party across the street. My oldest sister, Laurie, was in the living room & noticed a shadow moving at the end of the room. What was odd was that it was moving back & forth behind our KLH-9 speakers (which were about 6 feet tall). If the shadow was from something in the room it would have fallen on the front of the speakers. She had the distinct feeling this was my grandfather, who had passed away several years before. (He was a francophile & we were not allowed to call him Grandpa - he preferred the french ‘Granpere.’)

Another sister, also had a similar sighting of an odd shadow moving in another room of the house.

My parents came home very late & my sisters couldn’t tell my mother until the next morning. They each told my mother about their experience separately. They had not told each other. My mother was really upset about this & thought they were lying. She told my father about it, who gave her a funny look. Finally, he said, “I wasn’t going to tell you this, but I woke up last night at & there was Grandpere standing at the end of the bed. He was there a moment & then gone.”

My mother had been grieving about my grandfather’s death, wishing he could’ve lived long enough to visit us in Hawaii where we lived at the time. She believes this was his way of saying, “I’m here. Don’t grieve.”

This one is unexplained. We lived in a house built in 1925 in NJ back in the early ‘90’s. Nothing strange ever happened in the house except an incident when my young daughter was old enough to have conversations but had absolutely no exposure to ghost stories at all (nothing on TV like Casper, etc.). She told us one night in her bedroom she was talking to the little boy. We asked “what little boy?”. She said a little boy floated up the stairs and into her room and began speaking to her. Very strange. She was very young so maybe she made it up but at the time it was uncharacteristic for her to make up floating boy stories. We laughed it off with her and it never happened again.

Like the The Exorcist, The Exorcism of Emily Rose is also based on a true story. It's a very good movie too! Warning! Spoilers in this link.

Ok, I’ll tell you about what happened to my family but you won’t believe it.

We lived out in the country in a house we’d rented, it was 1984 or 1985, can’t remember which. My youngest daughter Janie was about 13 at the time and had been sleeping in an upstairs bedroom with my niece Sherry, who was 19. Because of the summer heat Sherry wanted Janie to start sleeping in her own room. The first room at the top of the steps.

We had a used twin bed that had been her older sisters bed but just hadn’t put it up yet because being in a strange house Janie had felt better sleeping with Sherry in her bed.

When my ex-husband put the bed together and told Janie she’d have to sleep in it, she begged us not to make her because she was afraid of being alone.

The first night Janie slept in the bed she came running to me crying and scared to death. “Mommy! Mommy! My bed just tried to kill me!” She cried. I said, “What?!!? No way her bed just tried to kill her. I was thinking she just didn’t want to sleep in that big dark room alone.

But Janie was trembling and crying and acting like she was scared to death, so I asked her how her bed had tried to kill her. She said it lifted it’s self up off the floor and tried to dump her over the banister. She said it came up and then tilted while she was hanging onto the side of it for dear life.

Her room was at the top of the stairs and didn’t have a wall, only a banister to keep you from falling to the first floor. But her story sounded so totally unbelievable that I told her she was just having a bad dream and go back to bed.

She didn’t want to go back to bed and I’m ashamed of my self yet today for making her go back and get in that bed but I did it. I made her go back to bed.

The next night the same thing happened. In the middle of the night Janie comes running screaming down the steps and right to me hanging on to me for dear life. “Mommy, please don’t make me sleep in that bed it tried to kill me again!” She was terrified. I’ve never seen anyone so terrified.

I hurts me still today that I still couldn’t find it in me to believe her. I believe in God, I believe in evil, but I couldn’t make myself believe that the bed was lifting up off the floor and trying to dump her over the banister. But seeing my child so terrified I couldn’t make her go back up stairs. I told her to sleep in her father and my bed.

The next day we all went to my Mother’s house and I told Mommy what was going on with Janie. And Mommy got on me for not believing her. My mother was a preacher, The United Fellowship Christian Center was the name of her church. And she told me that being a preacher, she’d seen evil first hand and that I should take what Janie said was happening to her serious.

Mommy made us all, my ex husband, Sherry, Janie, Mommy and me form a circle and hold hands and she prayed and then anointed us all on the forehead with oil.

I’m ashamed to say that I had the roll your eye’s type attitude that night when Mommy did that but I went along because she was my Mother and I always did what my Mother told me to do.

When we got home, when we walked into the house, we heard a loud bang on the floor upstairs. Then another, and another, and it was bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang non stop.

Every one of us looked at each other and we all took off upstairs to see what in the world? But when we got upstairs we saw the bed beside the banister coming up off the floor and bang right back down on the floor. Over and over it came up off the floor and bang, back down on the floor.

I screeched, “We gotta get the bible!” and we all ran downstairs just about running over each other. I grabbed the bible and we all ran back upstairs, and again we just about ran over each other getting there. And then I threw the bible on the bed.

We all stood there holding our breath waiting to see what happened. Nothing. The bed was quiet. There was a collective sigh of relief and we all went back down stairs thankful that the bed had stopped doing what none of us wanted to believe we’d seen it do.

It wasn’t two minutes after we’d gotten downstairs feeling relived before bang, bang, bang, bang, at a feverish pace, twice as fast and twice as hard as before bang, bang, bang, not a second between bangs.

We all ran back upstairs and my ex screamed, “Get out of here!” to me, said, “Take the kids and get out of the house NOW!” And he grabbed the mattress off the jumping bed and run down the stairs right behind us and we all ran outside.

We stood there, Sherry, Janie, and me holding my son who was a little over a year old, watching my ex run back and forth carrying out the box springs, headboard, foot board and rails of the bed. He put them all in a pile and then got our 5 gallon gas can and poured all 5 gallons on the pile and lit it up.

The bed burned and then smoldered for a whole week. My Mother came over and blessed the house and we never had any more trouble.

I have felt all these years that I let my child down because I didn’t believe her when she told me her bed was trying to dump her over the railing. And even though I know it happened to us, it’s still hard to believe. Even though you see it with your own eyes it hard to make yourself accept, that what you saw was possible.

What happened to us only strengthened my belief in God and I never rolled my eyes again when my Mother wanted us all to pray together or when she wanted to anoint us with oil.

My mom and brother played around with Ouija board back in the 70s, asked it when they would die. It gave them an answer and they were very frightened about it all since it said they would have early deaths (Which did not come about). We grew up Catholic and never remember being admonished that God's Word forbids this -

Ephesian 6:11-12 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
