What is it?
Where is it?
What's it do?
Add-on for Firefox.
Ghostery alerts you about the web bugs, ad networks and widgets on every page on the web.
Web bugs are hidden scripts that track your behavior and are used by the sites you visit to understand their own audience.
Best thing ever.
That's why you get the real Diskeeper. ;)
A couple of free ones:
etriloquist..free...is a text to talk program with a ton of features. I lost my voice box to cancer (agent orange) and etriloquest was a life saver for a bunch of months till I learned an alternate voice method.
And on I just put in today...MONITORS WEATHER AND POSTS IT ON TWITTER. Go to grantsvillewx on twitter to see it working. It is called Cirrus and it is free (my kinda price).
....Bob

(I wonder how many people will opine on THIS one?-haha)
best defrag...O&O (http://www.oo-software.com/home/en/products/oodefrag/), NOT free. NOT cheap.
I will try out auslogics, though.
BTW, I tested Defraggler (http://www.piriform.com/defraggler/download) on 5 different systems w/different setups and 4 different OS’s. In each case, it reported MORE fragmentation after defragging, than when it began.
A really neat set of utilities that is FREE is from KarenWare (http:/www.karenware.com) her “Power Tools” have been in my toolbox for many years, and they are great.
If you’re into graphics, especially as a n00b, I use GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) and PaintNet (http://www.getpaint.net/) for most everything.
Then, there is always the very useful OSSwin Project (http://osswin/sourceforge.net), and they have (maybe) thousands of free Windows software for the download.
Yes, but knowing which items to drop..that is the question. drop the wrong items and you might find your net connection tanks, or xp won’t boot.
Paint.NET is awesome!
Would be interesting if you could hook up a 1000 of those running on a treadmill and try to power the pc with it. Unfortunately I dont know enough about kinetic energy to test such an experiment :)
Anyone know of a good word processor for Mac? I don’t need all the business stuff, just the letter writing stuff. I have Mac 10.5.8, Safari.
Why, yes! My favorite Windoze programs are those that run in virtual machines, so that we can see how trashy the anti-American, pro-communist software is without letting viruses in.

Try *pinging* FReeper Swordmaker, the keeper of the Mac ping list.
Yeah, UNIX! It can wipe your windows partition clean in seconds and give you REAL operating system!!
They all come with mouses. Didn’t you know that?
“Mark Russinovichs Autoruns.exe from http://live.sysinternals.com/ is much better.”
Heck, anything sysinternals is great, and worlds above MS...uh, oh yeah, MS bought them, didn’t they. They don’t seem to have screwed them up yet, though.
Having a fraggin’ file system that needs de-fraggin’ all the time is fraggin’ lame, dude. Is that your favorite windows application, the de-fragger? Watching those red blocks get turned into green and yellow blocks? Fraggin’ hopeless.
Ditto.
