Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
Life of Brian ^ | circa 1979 | Eric Idle

Posted on 10/23/2009 8:38:28 PM PDT by Delacon

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

I’ll have a much brighter day when the Demmies are hanging Mussolini style from an overpass.

Sooth the funny happens when you see socialists, communists, fascists and islamicists fight over which overpass to hang each other from. Funny thing, Lenin was right on just one thing. Freedom loving capitalists will sell them the rope.

My first real (summer) job was as a chef at Disney ... a senior chef there was a python fan (as was I) and as “brian” was recently out and my name is Brian he always put me in positions where I had to proclaim that “I am not the messiah!” ....

That said I believe a film that parallels better what our near future will bring would be Americathon.

LOL. Well I think Obama was misheard. He didnt say “Blessed are the cheese makers”. He said, “I will give you the largest socialist government and pay all my special interest groups and all the other money takers”.

[a line of prisoners files past a jailer]
Coordinator: Crucifixion?
Prisoner: Yes.
Coordinator: Good. Out of the door, line on the left, one cross each.
[Next prisoner]
Coordinator: Crucifixion?
Mr. Cheeky: Er, no, freedom actually.
Coordinator: What?
Mr. Cheeky: Yeah, they said I hadn't done anything and I could go and live on an island somewhere.
Coordinator: Oh I say, that's very nice. Well, off you go then.
Mr. Cheeky: No, I'm just pulling your leg, it's crucifixion really.
Coordinator: [laughing] Oh yes, very good. Well...
Mr. Cheeky: Yes I know, out of the door, one cross each, line on the left.

Mr. Cheeky sounds like a dem.

The beginning is so funny. I haven’t seen it in decades but still remember it.

The 3 kings follow the star and go into the stable, where there is a nasty mother who’s given birth (as usual, the ugliest Python dressed as a woman), and this family is rude and crude and grab the gifts and are just awful. After that scene, the kings go out of that stall and see, far down the stable’s hall of stalls, a stall in which an icon-portrait-like Mary and Joseph and baby with golden lights and halos stand. They had been in the wrong stall.

Kid you not, a local radio station plays that song every day at 9am as I am driving. Post the video where the guy drops his cross and another guy picks it up for him and gets stuck with it while the other guy runs away.

Obama is the One. He has the holy shoe and the holy gourd. He may be blind? He may lie like a rug. He may have the biggest ego in America but he will lead us. To the third cross on the left side.

That clip is on their Life of Brian website if you want to relive it.

My favorites are the scene in the amphitheatre where they start in on the Romans:

What have the Romans ever done for us?

And the response is a laundry list of civilizing items like Aqueducts, sewers, wine, olives, roads, etc. etc.

The other one is where the conflicting Jewish sects sneak into the palace for a raid, encoutner each other and start a fight among themselves while the Roman legonaries look on in bewilderment. (Sounds like the Holy Land today)
