Thought I would bring an fyi to freeper students and educators who have a valid .edu address.
Microsoft has a time limited offer for Windows 7 and MS Office. You can purchase Windows 7 Professional upgrade version for 29.99 and MS Office for 59.95.
Some schools have a partnership deal with MS and some others don't with this you can purchase software at the price the partner schools receive it. This is a time limited offer though as it ends on Jan 3, 2010.
i had the unpacking issues. I did the hackery and made the ISO but the product key they gave me in an email with my order says its invalid!!!!! I am so angry. I have been on with digital river several times who point me to Microsoft and Microsoft then points me to digital river. Still no valid product key. They tell me Microsoft has to issue a new one. I am still waiting.... and waiting. !@#$#@!!@#$#$@@!!

It was my primary home email account. I check it regularly. Never received one. I also went back and changed it to my secondary email account. Never received a reply their as well. The heck with it.
