I am making a list of emergency food storage items. Please tell me what you have stored or what you will be storing. Some of the things I have: powdered milk, flour, dried beans, rice, jerkey, water purification tabs.
Vodka.
Not kidding, it has a lot of uses.
Diet Coke!
Haha! You actually have a point. I could put it in the medical kit. Drink liberally in case of emergency!
It also is a preservative, can fuel or help start a fire, can be a weapon (Molotov cocktail), and of course, great for a shot or two.
Don’t forget toilet paper and blue bags to use. Blue bags come with a portable toilet...(the cheapest kind that is a folding stool with a toilet seat on it..blue bags are then disposed of. Use to use them when camping in the national or state forests without bathroom facilities..
oh! and lots of ammo!
like i was taught in the boy scouts, "be prepared."
You are absolutely right! I never have thought of that.
Dangit....one more item on the list!
At least cheap vodka will do.
; )
Or moonshine.
Other than a cool, dry place, any suggestions for storage?
Dynamite. I don’t know why.
Drinking water. AND means to purify/filter additional water.
Baking soda, baking powder, cream of tartar, yeast, cornstarch.
TOILET PAPER. Bleach (unscented). Batteries, various. Bar soap. Laundry powder. Contractor trash bags. 5-gallon backets. Propane bottles. Denatured alcohol. Files, various (for sharpening tools and other items).
:D
Now you are speaking my language.
That commodity is more readily available in my neck of the woods.
Canned Meats including the big daddy-o - Spam....
They have long sell by dates, compact, loaded with calories (which you want)and relatively easy to pick up on grocery trips monthly to add to your storage at home.(And push the sell-by-dates by months/years)
If it gets big-drag-out bad - you want storage of lots of calories...
If the cans start getting close to the expiration dates - rotate them out and donate to a food pantry - or eat them...
The Ozark in your name gave it away.
vodka:
relieves stress. ;)
molotav cocktail
heater (stuff a roll of toilet paper in an empty soup can, saturate with vodka, and ignite)
fire-starter
barter item
sanitizer (for eating or cleansing wounds)
if distilled, it is explosive
:)
We got one ol’ boy ‘round here that makes “flavored” moonshine-Cherry, vanilla, blackberry etc.
Ugh! WTF?
Actually there are lists all over the net, just don't forget the sweet tooth
as sweets can round out the tedious boredom of living off emergency supplies.
Honey is perfect because of it's shelf life.
