Nobody was attacking the parents over it. It just struck me as unusual when I read that this 7 year old girl had a skull and crossbones backpack, and that it was partly pink, so definitely intended for little girls. Now that I’ve seen a picture of the busy print, it doesn’t look as weird — the article had said “a” skull and crossbones. It probably wouldn’t even have struck me as odd if it had been a boy. I’d just never seen anything like a girly-pink backpack adorned with skull and crossbones.

If you read the original post I responded to, you can see where the poster implied that the parents must have thought the backpack was “cool” because if was “goth”. It was disparaging in both tone and context.

And people wonder why kids are not active anymore. They can’t go out and be active because they get murdered!

The backpack is cute and I would care less if my kid wanted it. Big dam deal!

I would have thought that was entrapment.

I couldn’t agree with you more! My two girls love this style of accessory since they were both raised in a music-filled environment (DH is a drummer in a classic rock cover band).

In the 80’s I use to wear long Skelton earrings. We called them Bones Boys. LOL

manners...your post insulted over 18 million residents of Florida...where the vast majority of them of law abiding good people.

Statements that are generalizations like you made only hurt the legitimate efforts of others trying to get things done.

However you are right I shouldn’t have insulted you but this country is filled with very naive views of the world and your statement about FL reflected a naive position.

It doesn’t matter that you live in TX, for that matter I could slander all of TX like you did to FL in regard to the horrible record of immigration enforcement in TX or the corrupt legislation regarding the turnpike right to Mexico...etc...but that wouldn’t be fair to label ALL OF TX for the acts of a few...just like it was wrong to say FL is all screwed up.

The fact of the matter is that voting public has been pretty apathetic and the old saying...we deserve the government we get because we vote them in. So maybe now enough people will finally wake up and doing something about it so we can hopefully avert civil war in this country.

And if I insulted TX like you insulted FL I would expect you to say something back to me...direct your comments toward the scumbags that deserve not the good hard working law abiding people in FL.

Sorry in advance for this. I want the mother f@cker(s) responsible for this found and choked to death with their gonads. I am sick of these damnable murders of defenseless children.

If the murderer ever makes it to jail, he probably won’t last long. Even hardened criminals have a soft spot for defenseless kids, and don’t much care for people who abuse and brutally murder them.

That is the sweetest, most adorable face.......may she RIP. and may the evil thing that did this to her be found soon, before he can touch the innocence of a child ever again.

Yep skull and crossbones gear, like most of skateboarding culture, has gone mainstream.

Not really amazing. I had a hard time finding a print backpack without a skull/crossbones on it. I do my best not to buy anything with that crap, but it’s everywhere

****************

If that were true, there wouldn’t be so many repeat offenders.

“your post insulted over 18 million residents of Florida..”

Yet you are the only one who felt offended. LOL!

“Statements that are generalizations like you made only hurt the legitimate efforts of others trying to get things done.”

Sorry, ya’ll ain’t getting it done. If I hear about one more little dead girl in Fla. I’m gonna scream.

Texas is #1 in deaths of abused children so, I scream a lot anyway.

“I could slander all of TX like you did to FL in regard to the horrible record of immigration enforcement in TX or the corrupt legislation regarding the turnpike right to Mexico”

CUBANS? Drugs?

“The fact of the matter is that voting public has been pretty apathetic and the old saying...we deserve the government we get because we vote them in.”

Absolutely!

“direct your comments toward the scumbags”

Actually, I was but, then you popped up.

I’ll try and be more directive in my commentary next time. OK?

Four blocks from home, ran ahead of the rest of the group, vanished, then found dead at a landfill. Horrible.

I understand there was an attempted abduction exactly a week ago at pretty much the same spot? A blue car seen driving away?

Most of those ‘repeat offenders’ weren’t convicted of the murder of a child.

Still, think of the child killers you’ve heard of. Very few of them are ever killed by other inmates, although it does happen occasionally. Jeffrey Dahmer was one. But most of them are either executed, die of natural causes in prison, or are eventually released. Those who are released tend to kill kids again.

Poor little one. I would have preferred it to have been an accident instead of an unthinkable murder... I cannot imagine what gets into a perp’s head that would lead him/her to DO such an awful thing...

I am so thankful that her body was found so quickly. Have been surprised that it seems that no cadaver dogs were brought in; haven’t heard them mentioned.
