Chavez-lackey Manuel Zelaya will be returned to power in Honduras. The AFP reported:
Honduran negotiators reached agreement on Wednesday on a plan to restore President Manuel Zelaya to office and end a political crisis triggered by his ouster in a June coup.
"We have agreed in a document on point number six, which relates to the restitution of the powers of state to where they were before June 28, 2009," Victor Meza, Zelaya's representative, told a news conference.
Restoring the state to the situation before the coup would imply Zelaya's return to office, something that had been opposed by Robert Micheletti, the head of the coup-backed interim government.
Micheletti and Zelaya must now ratify the agreement reached by their representatives in talks Tegucigalpa.

**Other than phone calls, faxes, tea parties, voting, protests, marches, etc., what can we do? I sometimes feel like Don Quioxte, tilting at windmills.**
Stop by this thread and see if you can help out here and spread the link around. There are some charts of all the Senate seats and Congress seats up to date. We need to start now zeroing in on who is the best “Constitutional Conservative” to take over these seats and collectively put an end to this insanity.
1) We can start doing our own research on the people running for the position and sharing what we find with each other.
2) Network with other freepers from your district and hook up with other local groups trying to stop the radical change happening. Develop strategies to get the info researched out to the voters.
3) Plan ways to engage people so that 2010 will be one of the biggest voting turnouts in history
4) Anything else we can think of.
We can’t get discouraged at this point we have to keep pushing forward. There are many great people in this country wanting to do something. There is much to do, let’s activate in ways we have never done before. Our country’s life is on the line as well as our way of life.

Obama’s fault. No one else’s.
:-D
Have a good time.
What they should have done the first time - shoot the marxist SOB in the head. Twice (just to be sure).
IF AND ONLY IF this is a way for all sides to save face and Z is returned to his position as a formality only, with no real power or influence, then he will be out in a month or so and this is OK.
OTOH if 0bama helped overthrow the sitting Constitutional govt giving Z real power then this really sucks.
YOU ARE RIGHT.
I read about the “deal” in the WSJ...The jerk goes in to “finish his term’ ( thus not being able to be in the election and not becoming a martyr to destroy the election).the election goes on and new Pres is elected.
Are you affirming my statement or trying to tell me something you think I'm not aware of?
Perhaps but the temp. govt. has held the upper hand since day one so I'm confident in their latest decision............
As I said before, with the new election only weeks away there is nothing Zelaya can do other than go back to the palace and start packing up his furniture........
Thank for the ping fanfan.

“End to Honduras crisis? Not so fast, negotiator says”
SNIPPET: “TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (CNN) — A negotiator for de facto Honduran President Roberto Micheletti said that no deal was reached between the two opposed sides Wednesday, as other government officials had reported.
Ninety percent of an agreement to end the country’s ongoing political crisis has been reached, Micheletti negotiator Vilma Morales said at a news conference Wednesday, but some key points remained to be worked out.”
Hang him
Micheletti is a patriot, and may go along with this if he has proof that it will save the nation and restore some normalcy to his people.
Wasn't the whole point of the original takeover because Zelaya was trying to run again, contrary to the Constitution?
Why can't he simply attempt it again?
Letting him back in was a very very bad move.
This isn’t true. There was a report earlier that said an “agreement” was reached but neither side has ratified it, therefore it is not an agreement. If the current President refuses to sign then it is not an agreement. The earlier report didn’t say what the agreement was either. So we will have to wait and see what happens won’t we. I hope to he** they don’t sign any thing restoring this POS to power.
Interesting timing seeing as how Honduras has just qualified for the World Cup. So they will be celebrating like crazy tonight.
MICHELETTI CLEAR THAT NO AGREEMENT TO RESTORE TO “MEL”
From: Tiempo.hn > http://www.tiempo.hn/secciones/crisis-politica/5579-micheletti-aclara-que-no-hay-acuerdo-para-restituir-a-mel
San Pedro Sula, Roberto Micheletti, from the Presidential Palace, said that only a few minutes ago the Supreme Court and Congress will decide whether Manuel Zelaya Rosales returns to power.
Micheletti, who took power after the armed forces to expel Zelaya Rosales of Honduras, said that no agreement to restore the president elected in November 2005.
Micheletti reacted with these words after disseminate news agencies that negotiating committees had an agreement to restore to Zelaya Rosales.
At the same time, we asked members of the National Front of Resistance Against the Coup d’etat “to respect the laws. We will not have any mercy in making determinations serious and strict, framed within the law, to defend the Constitution of the Republic, “Micheletti said to Radio America.
“On November 29, nobody, absolutely nobody, man, will be able to stop the elections in this country. They do free and transparentea “he said. “Here the brave, we’re not going to allow anything to anyone.”
Thank - who is our “man on the scene” in Honduras? I forget their FR name? They know what is really going on - can anyone remember and ping that Freeper?
