Children don’t have any socially-conscious taste, as a rule. If their parents have taste, *and* if they think it’s important for their children to be dressed tastefully, then the children will turn up in public looking decent. If the parents don’t meet both criteria, you’ll get children looking inappropriate and/or goofy.
I don’t remember what other children in Presidential families wore - I didn’t really notice, until I had my own children that age - but I’m sure there were some real loo-loos in the 60s and 70s, when everyone’s clothes were idiotic.

Where did you hear about no Christmas Tree in the White House? I thought there would be a bigger uproar about that. This is the first I have heard of it.

I’m happy to see them going to church. The girls are dressed like my DD — well — my daughter would match her things better ;-) but all things considered it IS nice to see them going to church.
No. Muslim men do not hold hands with a woman in public and she should be following at a respectful 3 or 4 paces behind him.
I didn’t know they weren’t going to have a Christmas tree in the White House. Do you have a source for this? If that’s the decision they’ve made, then we should hold our fire until December. We know they go Trick or Treating because they did it during the campaign, but the lack of Christmas celebration is going to be a bit startling to some Obama minions. Look for the Obamas to disappear to Hawaii for the whole month of December.

Did you ever watch the video of that scene? I watched it 5 times in a row to verify what I saw. The Black woman behind him said something and he turned and helped her down to the step beside him.
That picture view lasted all of 2 or 3 seconds in time as he turned to help the Black woman step down.
She has the potential to be a real stunner. I hope she turns out well.

yes, they will. As of October 1st I think. If you want ones from Jan.-Sept. you have to ask for specific names. I’m sure Freepers can come up with a list of names to ask about. I’m surprised Beck and Breitbart haven’t been all over that.

I figured she wouldn’t pass up a chance to spend a lot of our money and to have photo ops. Poll numbers suck, this year, there will be a tree. If he makes it in 2012, there will be none after that.
Now, months later, they decide to put in an appearance on Sunday. Only took them 10 months. Guess it will be 10 more, save maybe for Christmas. Oh, I forgot, they don’t celebrate Christmas. They have already announced that there will be no Christmas tree IN the White House. Wonder if there will be The National Christmas Tree put up on the lawn, this year? I waiting to hear the big “No” announcement on that.

They said they will release LIMITED (redacted) lists of names after Sept 1. And yes, you need to request specific names (and spell them properly) to get the names prior to September (so is it Kadaffi, Qaddafi, Gadafi...?).
