Heart patient Sean Connery refuses to give up red wine

Veteran actor Sean Connery has refused to give up his favourite red wine even after been diagnosed with a heart condition.

The former James Bond star has been warned to stop drinking alcohol by medics but he refuses to give up, as he believes it is good for his health.

“I do drink red wine because of my friend David Murray, who owns two French wine estates. He showed me the evidence that it was good for the health,” the Daily Express quoted him as telling Wine Spectator magazine.

“I favour Merlots from Chile for their value and I keep a good deal of California wine in my cellar. I have one that cost me USD 2,000 for two cases, which I think is rather steep,” he added.

That’s generally true but each patient needs to be evaluated as a whole. Connery’s doctor has the whole (or nearly so) story and the red wine may be doing him more harm than good.

“That’s generally true but each patient needs to be evaluated as a whole.”

Well, I live life on the risky side, and at 65 I feel fine.
I go to a doctor, maybe every 2 years to draw my blood and send it off for analysis to check most everything.
I am not under any stress, and I have no one to depend on me.
I have high LDL, but also high HDL. I have no interest in going on statins. My BP is always text book perfect.

I sometimes think that health concerns and regular doctor visits are unhealthy, haha
Of course, I could drop dead as soon as I hit the send button.
I might add, one of my brothers is a doctor, age 72.
He lives by the same attitude, also traveling the world.
His twin brother has 5 doctors, is a borderline hypochondriac, and is always worrying about health.
He is still married....Maybe thats his problem, haha

One hundred percent of wine drinkers die eventually. By contrast, one hundred percent of non-wine drinkers die eventually.

It worked also, I would sit back, put my feet on the chair in front of me (if possible), and watch my GPA improve by at least a point, as I stopped making the silly mistakes that were killing me.

I watched my roomate drink her way through law review and end up as a souse-lawyer. She wrote better drunk but the rest of her life stunk.

Anybody who can take what’s become of this world sober doesn’t have much to lose.

[Soak the blueberries in Ruby Port]

Lol, then I would be like Theresa Kerry and her vodka soaked raisins! Blueberries in Port do sound better.

They couldn’t get him to give up the stuff in “Never Say Never Again.”

But he did lose four pounds and God knows how many free radicals...

Ruby Port is a heavy sweet red wine. The blueberries absorb the flavor and sweetness. I can also recommend using the soaked berries in a rutabaga pie
